If only the Democrats had decided to socialize the food industry or housing, Romneycare would probably still be viewed as a massive triumph for conservative free-market principles -- as it was at the time.
It's not as if we had a beautifully functioning free market in health care until Gov. Mitt Romney came along and wrecked it by requiring that Massachusetts residents purchase their own health insurance. In 2007, when Romneycare became law, the federal government alone was already picking up the tab for 45.4 percent of all health care expenditures in the country.
Until Obamacare, mandatory private health insurance was considered the free-market alternative to the Democrats' piecemeal socialization of the entire medical industry.....

According to the Sean Hannity Show, she told Romney he owes her.
It’s sad. I really can’t believe it.
It might be a nervous breakdown, or substance abuse issues. Poor girl. Sad to watch happen before our eyes.

Elect him to national office THEN he can wreck it!
Is Coulter on drugs or sumptin'?
“Until Obamacare, mandatory private health insurance was considered the free-market alternative to the Democrats’ piecemeal socialization of the entire medical industry.”
Considered by whom, exactly? Harvard? Some guy at the Heritage Foundation? Color me convinced.
Not a WORD about tort reform being a PRECURSOR to touching ANY PART of the medical industry.
Something you’d expect from a lawyer, I suppose.
Her arguments used to be airtight, irrefutable, and devastating.
I hope she invested well. It’s not like the right had a lot of leading lights on its side to begin with.
I have not heard any solution from anybody about people who show up at the emergency room without health insurance. The cost of their treatment is picked up by those of us who carry health insurance.
Why are people who can afford to pay for their own health insurance are allowed to sponge off the rest of us who are paying hefty amounts to insurance companies?
Another thing I would like solved is ability to buy insurance across state lines. I hate the limited choice of insurance providers and very little competition.
Lastly, I am strongly opposed to any government run health program/insurance. I have that now, it is called Medicare and it sucks. And it is going broke anyway with all the waste, fraud and abuse.
It’s only a matter of time before Ann Coulter shares a stage with Meghan McCain and they embrace each other as ‘sisters’.
Poor Ann (Kennedy) Coulter...we hardly knew ye’.
Wouldn’t it be better if no one posted the latest crap from that woman? We know she’s a mental case, no need for further evidence.
I think we have a lot of leading lights here and in the Tea Party....I really don’t care for her and think we can do a whole lot better! Her time is up and her light has dimmed; she needs to exit stage right.

“What went wrong with Romneycare wasn’t a problem in the bill, but a problem in Massachusetts: Democrats.”
No one will ever convince me that socialized medicine is a good idea, but if there is anything about Ann’s article that rings true, this is it. Massachusetts was determined to socialize its healthcare system no matter who was governor. It was a speeding train heading for a train wreck. You would have thought that Romney would have had the smarts to say, “Wreck yourselves if you want, but I’m not going to participate.” I have various theories why he did not. One is that he’s as liberal as Massachusetts, but I don’t believe that. Most likely, he did it because he thought he might want to run for re-election, and that vetoing the bill would not help. There is also the possibility that he did it because he thought that if he participated in the negotiations, he would have some influence on what the bill said. If he wants to lead the nation, he’s going to have to get over that. There is nothing that can be accomplished by negotiating with fools.
This site should be added to FR’s Banned list.
It was reported in an FR thread last night about Romneycare and how it came about that The Heritage Foundation supported the individual mandate concerning healthcare. It seems that Friends of Romney or Romeny himself donated $25,000.00 to them for their support for RomneyCare, so much for those whores at Heritage and Rush should kick them off his show. The whole culture in DC is invested with crooks and thieves.
I wish Jim would ban anything Ann writes from here for now on, she is nothing but a shill for the crooks in office....
