U.S. DEPORTATIONS PUT A BURDEN ON TIJUANA
The San Diego Union-Tribune ^ | Feb. 5, 2012 | Sandra Dibble

TIJUANA — Less than four months after he was released from a Nevada prison and deported to Mexico, Fermín Pérez Juárez is in trouble again. He is now behind bars in Tijuana, accused along with four others in the kidnapping and torture of a man who was hoping to be smuggled into the United States.

It wasn’t just the brutality of the crime, committed last month in the city’s Zona Norte, that commanded attention in Tijuana newspaper headlines and on TV broadcasts. It was the people allegedly behind the crime: Pérez and the other suspects are deportees with U.S. criminal records, Mexican authorities said.

Illegal immigration is a contentious topic in the United States, but it can be a touchy subject in Mexico, too. This is especially true in northern border cities such as Tijuana, where hundreds of Mexicans are returned each day.The city’s officials say the presence of large numbers of deportees poses public safety problems and further strains social-service programs. Business owners near the border complain that they drive up crime and drive away customers. Deportees say they often are made to feel like convicts even when they are not — ostracized, unable to find work, lacking any family or friends in the area, targeted by police as well as criminals who shake them down and take their money and documents.

Mexico thinks we should keep their illegals here and let them drive up crime here . Sorry Mexico we are not their parents. This is your problem, deal with it.

Operation Wetback, during the Eisenhower administration, shipped illegals to Veracruz. That way they had a longer walk to get back to the border.

Some of the illegals were put on slow boats, and died on the trip.

Eisenhower had put General Jim Swing in charge of the INS. Swing moved INS managers away from where they had been bribed or nudged by their local congress critter/business groups, and began raiding- the businesses didn’t get advance notification of the raids.

The raids worked. Most illegals self deported. It was so effective that the Democrat party rewrote the law to create anchor babies.

"Cry us a river," TJ and SD as well.

Why does the writer for the SD paper believe that all 57 Obama states should suffer its criminals running in U.S. cities?????

As to Mex. you sent these vermin to the U.S. - now you get them back.

Tell someone who gives a damn, I sure don't.

I'm an American living here in Baja, about 16 miles south of TJ. I see the deportees all the time. I don't think the article said that Mexico wanted us to keep the deportees, it just said they need notice and cooperation. Like the USA, Mexico is not prepared. I have hired a couple of deportee's in my business. They work hard and realize that they or their parents screwed up and never got papers. It takes a while for them to get the funds together to continue south to their home towns, so in the short run, TJ bares the burden of all the transients. I see the crime increase along the beaches, more break-ins for electronic gear that can be sold quickly. No violence to Americans. Except for cartel and drug related killings in TJ, I don't see a lot of violent crimes. Stay away from TJ after 12:00 and you should be OK. Just like you can't go to down town Detroit after midnight. Last summer I saw that there were 38 drug related deaths in Chicago in one weekend. I guess no one is immune from the impact of drugs.

Operation Wetback—— The good old days when America had pride and some unemployment (though nothing like today) so it evicted a few million illegal alien Mexicans to free up jobs for Americans. Today the Mexicans sense the rot in DC so invade America and do whatever the heck they want. We are a rich suburb where they go earn some money and piss on the natives
