Too bad. The best phone is a windows phone, but ATT had the best windows phones. Check out the windows phone if you are new to smart phones. It does everythign you’ll need but makes it easy. Read about how great windows phone was received at CES this year (January). It was all the rage.

Well a couple months ago I finaly downgraded to just basic phone service @ $27 per month. No texting and no media service. Damn, just like it used to be, a phone that you just use to talk on!

Awesome. You'll love it.

I have a Samsung Galaxy. With AT&T.

Had a Razor prior...wow. It was like going from a horse carriage to a Cadillac (to me). Can't tell you the pros or cons of each type though. Went with Samsung mostly because it is compatible with Windows and I'm in real estate and most of the applications are not Mac / Apple compatible.

Good Luck..

I really like keyboards. I really hate those simulated keyboards that you run your finger across.

If you’re ok with Verizon as a carrier and Android as your OS, the Droid 4 will probably be the best phone w/ keyboard.

I’m trying to wait for when Windows brings out Apollo (their latest OS for their phone. I’m hoping they’ll have a phone w/ keyboard.

After having Verizon for 6 years I just switched to Straight Talk at Wal Mart. Bought an LG Optimus Q phone - unlimited talk text and data for S49.00 per month taxes included. Love it.

I have been using pre-paid plans exclusively for about fifteen years. If you do any international travel including Canada or Mexico, pre-paid phones won't work there.

I am using the LG Optimus V, the V is for Virgin Mobile.

Android phone.

The Prepaid plan I have is (now) at $35/month, unlimited 3G until you hit 2.5GB, then it goes to 128kbs. 300 minutes of talk time.

Sprint owns VM, and the phones will only work on the Sprint network, no roaming.

$45/month gets you 1200 minutes.

$55/month unlimited minutes.

If you go with Android, you had better like Google. Gmail, Gmaps, GCalendar. It will work with others, but it won't like it.

just went with an Iphone 3G because my carrier (verizon) gave it to me for nothing. Had to sign a two year contract. Like the phone....still trying to figure most of it out. Anything would have been a vast improvement over the dinosaur I had for about 9 years

Advice? Don't.
Stay with a basic phone. Mine is the LG VX8300 by Verizon and it is as rock.

I will never get a "smart" phone.

Samsung Galaxy w Android v 2.3.4 and on US Cellular's network.

One hell of a phone and provider. Absolutely no problems/issues.

If I had a gripe tho...I'd ask for better battery technology...but then, I complain a lot!

I've had the Motorola Droid (original version on Verizon), an iPhone 3 (AT&T) and an iPhone 4 (Verizon).

Honestly, I don't have a strong preference between them. If you happen to use a Mac computer, then an iPhone is the obvious choice.

The iPhone is more "locked down" but it also tends to operate more smoothly. The Android phones have more things you can "fiddle with". There seem to be some significant security issues with the Android phones that haven't occurred with the iPhone.

I've heard some nice things about the latest Windows phones, but they don't seem to be selling at all well, so if you go that route, you might find yourself with an "orphan" that doesn't have much 3rd-party support.

If you have any particular software you really want on your phone, make sure it's available on the phone you're going to choose. Go to a store and play around with them to see if you like the "feel" of one more than the other.

Good luck with your choice!

I have a galaxy nexus on verizon. Its fantastic and especially good if you will use your phone for web browsing b/c the screen is very large. Only complaint is the camera isn't great - though it takes pictures pretty much instantly.
