Open Letter to the Rick Santorum Campaign

To: The Rick Santorum Campaign

Dear Folks,

Would the handlers of Rick Santorum please consider some advice from a Santorum supporter?

We must defeat Barack Obama in November. Historically, when you have an Ultra-Liberal running, they can only be defeated by a Conservative; not a Moderate. I believe that Rick Santorum is that Conservative candidate for 2012. However, I am concerned that, like so many candidates in the past, Rick will derail the momentum that he currently has.

Could his "handlers" please tell Rick that he does NOT have to answer every question that comes his way "off the cuff". What's wrong with saying: "Let me get back with you on that" and, just keep walking. I wish he would have given some thought to his comment re: women in battle. That was kinda lame. Although I, a Southern Conservative, agree with him, statements like that will NOT help him with the general public.

Slow down Rick. Engage brain (you have a good one) before putting mouth in gear.

Well, my mother lost two babies - late term. I know I had two brothers who died before they were born.

The hospital might have tossed her babies info the medical waste. Traditionally that was done to unborn deceased babies. Sad. Very sad. It was thought (and still is in some religions sadly including my own) that a child isnt mourn-able until it has drawn breath. Ultrasound and eons of mourning mamas should put an end to that.

The conservatives are just going to have to face the reality that they are going to get booby-trapped questions and whatever answer they give will be distorted by the old media.

They are going to have to avoid the old media as much as possible and try to get their message out in ways in the new media.

Can I offer another word of advice for Santorum or whoever's listening? STOP talking about "balanced budget amendments" and START talking about CUTTING GOVERNMENT.

“I do however, think it is VERY strange that he took a dead child home for him and his wife to be with it.”

Apparently it’s part of a program on how to accept and grieve. I don’t really think it’s for us to judge this one.

It’s only strange more people don’t do the same thing when their baby dies......but after all we are a throw away society so tossing your dead children away without a second thought seems normal

I am holding my baby here in the dark (with my iPad) and shedding tears for your loss. I am so very sorry. I am also sorry that was your only child. I lost 2 early on, but went on to have two more who made it. Each time I lost one, I planted a tree in my yard.

Some people come from Gd with only a smaller task to do here so they go back to Him very quickly. But your child had his job here as your story describes.

Thanks so much for your comments.

That happened in 1988 in the middle of the worst drought the Midwest had ever seen. It was a real turning point in my life.

About 2 months after that, my husband announced to me that he no longer loved me and would not miss me when I was gone. All this long before Lacy Peterson and all the other women.

I took the hint and moved out as I suspected he would be capable of anything. I had just turned 41.

I had no place to go but had seen an ad for a dorm room for $100.00 a month. So I applied for admission to the college and was accepted and given a teaching position.

Precisely. Let’s face it — the first part of romney’s distorted quote wasn’t true, and it wasn’t the bad part about what he said, but just the words “I don’t care about the very poor” make him out to be a Mumbai slumlord.

Remember that a majority of voters thought Sarah palin said “I can see Russia from my house.”

Senator Santorum, you’d be wise to remember that. When SNL mocks you, as long as they don’t go below the belt, be of good humor about it, but mention it, so that there is a quote and video your supporters can play for all the morons who get confused. It is a badge of honor to be mocked on SNL so just take it with a grin.

You imagine what 0's poll numbers would be if they treated him that way? Or Biden? LOL

Consider this: those sorry SOBS actually tried to put John Edwards one heartbeat away from the big job.

I heard that misportrayed on O’Reilly last night. Didn’t stay tuned in to hear how Ingraham handled it.

Santorum did not suggest that women are too emotional to be in combat. He said that emotions are involved that need discussion...(something along that line.)

What he obviously meant was male/female relationships in the midst of the most death-defying situations that can be imagined.

While he didn’t speak of average male versus female strength, it is an issue in combat because the males will feel a need to save the females.

If there’s an emotional relationship between a male and female in the same unit, either will do their utmost to save their love DESPITE THE MISSION.

Then there is the jealousy of competition for the affections of some male or female.

And, of course, there is pregancy, which will empty a unit of one more warrior in their unit.

There is a whole host of other “emotion” based difficulties that make this a terrible idea.

Anyone know how Ingraham handled it?

I know. Obama was so historic and protected. We still don’t know who he is. If Santorum once talked to a constituent who was a member of a right wing militia, it would be above the fold news 24/7. Yet Obama had a terrorist ghostwrite his memoirs and kickstart his campaign and from the media: crickets.

In all world cultures, men protect women. Boys often proudly protect their mamas. I have 3 sons who always tried to. It would be near de-civilizing these young men to train them to treat women like just another guy.

We have enough trouble with domestic violence now.

What you say is true, there are different reactions to the loss of a child. We lost our 18 year old son and I could not bear to even look at his body. I closed my eyes when I approached his casket.

I find the fact that the Santorums took their dead child home so the other children could hold it a little bit creepy. How will the children look back on this event when they are grown?

We have a marxist, socialist, muslim in the white house and this is what you’re concerned about? We’re going to lose our country if we don’t get rid of this radical! PLEASE STOP! Santorum is an excellent candidate and a very principled man who is unabashedly conservative, with no skeletons as of yet. Romney is unacceptably liberal, and Newt is just Newt, and not electable. We HAVE to have someone who is conservative yet electable. If it’s not Santorum, then let’s find him or her.

One of the things I like about Sarah Palin is that she gets that it's not all about politics and elections.

Culture and the conduits of information are probably more important.

Some people who agree with Santorum (or Newt) on 99 percent of things are not going to vote for him because the forces of culture are going to convince them he has cooties.

We have a fight ahead of us.

I can see the creepy factor too. Just saying that behavior under this particular kind of stress is not the way to judge people.

The way to answer it is: Under Barack Obama, the US economy has lost 5 million jobs. The real unemployment rate is closer to 15%. Our rating has been downgraded and a second downgrade is in sight. Obama is the Food Stamp President. Our nation is heading for the cliff and Obama has the pedal to the metal.

My priority is to turn this around before the Democrats and Obama destroy the economy. They do not want jobs for Americans. Their priority is to transform America from a constitutional Republic into something else.

Why don't you ask Obama what he plans to transform America into?

Now, do you have a question about how a Santorum Administration will turn this country around? That's what your viewers are interested in.
