Thousands of atheists are expected to attend the Reason Rally next month in Washington, D.C., an event that organizers hope will unify a large part of the secular community.
On March 24, the National Mall will be populated by those who sympathize with atheist perspectives, generally defined by an absence in belief of deities or other religious icons. ...

The Rally For Nothing?
Who addressing the group? Uncle ScrewTape?
You would think so...... Anyways I told him he believed in atheism more than I believed in God. This ticked him off. He said he didn't believe in atheism. What we finally settled on was that his non-beliefs were stronger than my belief in God. He is nuts on this and not pleasant to listen too. He belongs to the local skeptics group and local atheist group. Both have activities. Last month they held a public debate with a minister from Calvary Chapel. I was invited but did not go
I laughed out loud when I read this. My experience with atheists is they have absolutely zero skepticism about their position on God. A true skeptic would be skeptical of both atheism and God.
Atheists are FOS.
I was surprised to see that Fox Hottie from The Five, Andrea Tantaros proclaim she was atheist last week.

Does not surprise me in the least.
BTW, I am a woman, so I suppose my opinion is not significant in judging her looks, but IMO, she has a lovely figure and great hair, but her face is rather rodential.
The thing about atheists is their fanatical belief in atheism.
I don’t believe in atheists.
I don’t believe in their “massive rally”.

Stronger than what? God? Those who believe in God? Stronger than they were a few years ago? I wonder if they have outreach - missionary work, try to convert, etc. Actually I know the answer to that one; they do. They feel lonely and doubts might creep up on them in the dark of night, so they want more numbers to prop up their belief in non-belief.
They’re projecting more than anything.
They don’t understand that they’re not hated because they don’t know how not to hate.
The martyr complex does not work well with atheists.

26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. 30 And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 9 But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Why bother? They don’t believe in anything anyway.
They’re just going to mill around and eat all the donuts at the local shops.
They at war with the God they profess they deny, “Because the [incld. mine] carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. “ (Romans 8:7)
Indeed. Thanks for the ping, dear sister in Christ!
Their not atheists. They just have a different god they serve.
If a person wants to be an atheist, well, it is her/her decision to make, I know a few of them and most seem OK with the display of religion and they just shrug it off even if they don’t agree with that, as it should be. However, when one gets militant where they want to impose their religion on others via force, either through direct force or government fiat, then it becomes an issue where we all need to stand up to them. It’s when they become bullies, you need to take them on.
It becomes his "god." Be it his car, his career, his wealth, or what he perceives is his "elevated" intellect, his being is consumed by a passion for that thing or things which become his "god" or "gods."
So called "Atheists" hold something supposedly called "reason" -- at least as they measure it -- as the defining end-all and measure which stands in judgment of all in this Universe.
To the "atheist" their "reason" supposedly allows them to stand in judgment of all others and everything around them. It is unsurprising then that their "religion" is so self-promoting, and many of them are so inwardly focused, bitter, and cynical in their spirits.
The ancient Greeks worshiped their god of "reason," who went by a name they gave him at the time: Apollo.
So all these modern atheists have really done is transposed themselves into little "Apollos" of their own making. Nothing new here.
All the self-proclaimed "atheists" who show up on these boards are nothing more than self-absorbed acolytes who have merely chosen to become one with their "inner" Apollo.

"Choose you this day whom ye will serve ... " (Joshua 24:25).

You serve nothing you are nothing. Atheists are so stupid that "Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom" means nothing to them because they are smarter and more independent rational thinkers (in their own minds) to fall for that.
My skeptic/atheist friend...of course he believes in global warming and jacking up gasoline to $8/gallon via taxes so we are forced to move to green energy
