Democrats warn: Don't get cocky

Democrats have plenty of reason to feel good right now: The economy’s improving, the president’s numbers are up, their prospects for holding the Senate have brightened, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is confidently predicting that she’ll have a shot to regain the speaker’s gavel next year.
Television screens and news pages are full of stories about new Democratic momentum.
But on the ground level, Democrats’ newfound optimism is heavily salted with caution. The confidence is tempered by the knowledge that the political environment can change in an instant, especially when the resurgence owes to a fragile economic recovery — and the fact that three wave elections in a row haven’t sated the pitchfork politics of a nation that hates its capital.
“I’m not putting a lot of stock in snapshots,” said Sen. Bob Casey, a first-term Democrat who is on the ballot this year in Pennsylvania. “I think any incumbent’s going to have a challenge this year. It’s still a challenging environment. I know some data shows that things have improved, but I know that a couple of months ago it was otherwise.”

We need to be on our toes when it comes to gas prices.
Remember, gas was 4 dollars a gallon at one time during President Bush's term and it eventually fell to 2 dollars. RATS accused him of colluding with Saudi Arabia to manipulate oil prices to help him get re-elected.
If there's one thing we should know about Libs by now is that they accuse Republicans of engaging in the very tactics and behavior that they practice themselves.
So, if it's possible to bring gas prices down in time for President Bush's re-election, it will certainly be possible to bring them down in time for Urkel's.

Only in the world of Leftico is everything rosy. Everyone knows the labor stats are lies and bunk, no one thinks the economy is better. Obama's numbers are not getting better. Gas is at 5$ and all other economic indicators are bad.

The economy’s improving,....? I just bought my girlfriend’s daughter heating oil for $4.69 and the economy is improving? I just paid $3300 for a tuna fishing trip because my Captain has high diesel fuel bills, and the economy is improving? These barstards can’t even lie realistically.

Reality. Your original job was full time and paid $20 an hour and you had full benefits. Gas was 2.85 a gallon
Your new job is part time, pays $10 with no benefits and gas cost $3.95 a gallon.

By my count there are precisely two and only two sane members remaining in the Democrat Party. Doug Schoen and Pat Caddell. But don’t worry, since they work for Fox none of the other Dems are listening to them.
