The two US personnel assassinated today inside the Afghan Defense Ministry are described as ‘high ranking’. No word as to rank, service or status (civilian or uniformed service) . From what I understand, the Pentagon is saying that if those 2 soldiers were 'just' wounded and not killed, they would have been brought up on charges of stealing Afgahn bullets and hiding them on their bodies and would have been sent to Leavenworth for life without parole. Therefore, they were lucky to have been killed.
