Thanks for the Ping.

The "fix" was in from the get-go. Just like now. . .

How do you determine how many fradulent votes were cast for Obama? How many were cast for McCain? As I said, Ohio & Pennsylvania were not enough votes for McCain to win.

What knee jerk haters so many here have become. McCain made the correct decision for the country.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

WRONG!

Voter fraud should be vigorously investigated, prosecuted, and punished regardless of whether the results of the election are changed or not!

Personally, I believe honest elections are sooooo fundamental to our nation and its freedom than I would push for life in prison for anyone caught doing it. Seriously, I mean it. ( No sarcasm here.)

( Firing squad would be a tad harsh) ( sarcasm)

I tried, but was overruled. :(

He was/is a poor judge of the spirit and exceptionalism of patriotic citizens and their spirit for our Constitution.

INDEED!

Every fraudulent vote steals a vote from an honest citizen . The American people deserve better.

Wrong as usual (about Juan). He is a dual citizen having been born in Colon Hospital, Colon, Republic of Panama.

John McCain was not born on a US Army base there in Panama. He was not born in the Panama Canal Zone. Both of those can be considered US territory...a case can be made.  McCain was born on Panamanian soil at Colon hospital. I don't think John McCain is a natural born citizen even though his mother and father were US citizens

...refusing to allow Sarah Palin...to campaign among Hispanics in Florida, who reportedly "loved" her aggressive style.

Disgraceful.

Folks, you ASSUME that John McCain actually won the election, that this memo is 100% correct, that some aides of his were 100% correct, and that John McCain had a snow ball’s chance in hell of overturning that election.

Why do you make those assumptions? Did you not notice that McCain lost the election and it wasn’t even that close?

McCain lost Florida by about 240,000 votes, and Pennsylvania by about 600,000 votes. Those are the states mentioned in the memo. This was not Kennedy/Nixon or Bush/Gore.

Just because you now think or maybe some aide told McCain he should fight the result, doesn’t mean there was a basis to do so.

And that’s why I took the sane approach of saying this stupid memo does not make McCain 1. The winner in 2008, or 2 a traitor or 3. even a coward.

Even if you gave Illinois to Nixon, he still would have lost.

When the real and actual domestic violence, instead of this make believe BS, inevitably breaks out in this nation there will be wet trouser legs all over DC.

This "fear" has become an excuse too far, IMO.

Voter fraud should be fought because voter fraud is evil!

Win, lose, or draw, **all** voter fraud must be fought. Honest voters ( whose votes are stolen by the fraud) deserve it. Our nation and its foundation of freedom depends upon it.

Personally, I think voter fraud should be a death penalty crime.

Shame on John Mc Cain for dismissing voter fraud. Who is he that he can order that this travesty be ignored?

Keep in mind that even if McCain got those states, Obama would still have won the electoral vote.

Yes, but then what would have happened when it came out that the President or President elect had been guilty of election tampering? I'd imagine other states results would have been investigated too, and remember it's a crime even if the perp would have won without the tampering. Maybe he'd have been impeached, after all who would vote for "not proven" in such a case? Assuming they wanted to run again themselves.

But he wasn’t. He was born in a Panamanian hospital in Panama.

You have of course seen the birth certificate?

His mother, who was there after all, says he was born on the naval base. Yes the big hospital was built after his birth, but there was at least one doctor assigned to the base, and in those days home births were not all that unusual. Plus the base surely had at least a dispensary. I've been in dispensaries that were better equipped than many small town hospitals. Generally they have few beds available for over night stays, if any.

Then again, it may not matter, McCain's father was "in the service of the country", which Vattel, in Law of Nations, says is considered the same as being born in the country. I believe English common law would lead to the same conclusion. It mainly applied to diplomats in his day, but the explanation is broad enough to cover military stationed outside the country. Both of McCain's parents, unlike Obama's, were US Citizens.

Well, the BC says that he was born in a hospital in Colon, which was not in the Canal Zone.

The case is arguable, but far from certain. And the fact that all those Democrat Senators were so eager to sign on to the bill seems fishy to me. Democrats don’t do favors for their enemies like that unless they have some ulterior motive. McCain frequently reached across the aisle to their side, but I can’t think of any cases where the Dems reached back.

Of course, McCain was a really lousy choice for the GOP to nominate anyway. But that’s another matter.

I suggest you get a copy of that memo and start your own investigation. Do you know how silly you’re being? McCain would have no more first hand knowledge of this alleged fraud than you do. It would be up to state election officials and observers to prosecute local election fraud.

The question was whether McCain should have contested the election results. No, because he lost fair and square.
