"Once in custody Lane was advised of his rights, he confessed to taking the .22 pistol to school along with a knife,"...

"He admitted he fired 10 rounds into a group of students, that he did not know the students, and that he chose them randomly."

He chose his victims at random. This is not about bullying. This is not about drugs," the prosecutor said.

All the media types looking to somehow excuse these murders, immediately started up their, "He was bullied" campaign.

This was clearly not the case.

Something all the media types miss is the one thing that everyone of these school shootings has in common with every other is . . . school. End this outmoded 19th century institution and you end school shootings.

There was another article that stated that one of the victims had started to date the shooter’s ex-girlfriend. If accurate, that would indicate that this was not random.

Lack of parental love is the chief contributor.

And replace it with WHAT?

Maybe it didn't play a role in this case, but I'd still like to know if he was being treated with anti-depressants.

As in previous school shootings, the gunman's demons, the missed warning signs and lax US gun laws leapt quickly to the fore.

You knew that was coming.

That was, actually, the very FIRST thing I heard on the local democrat propaganda organ, KYW1060 radio, when it happened.

“...sources say he was bullied...” Really? Which “sources”??

I was also waiting for them to say “assault rifle”....”30 round clip”....”he reloaded”... “father is a right-winger neo nazi...” etc., etc. You know, all the magic words they use when they’re dancing in the victims’ blood of some tragedy.

It’s almost as if they have this narrative pre-printed and ready to go, and all they have to do is fill in the blanks to suit the circumstances.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all, actually, if it WASN’T pre-scripted and ready to use.

I disagree. The chief contributer (in my opinion) is this generation’s serious lack of coping skills.

I’m just stating the obvious: with no schools, there’d be no school shootings.

Isn't there a law that congress could pass that would stop this sort of thing from happening? Like making murder illegal? Has that ever been tried ?

Democrats :”Execute the guns not the murderer who was forced by the gun to kill

“...Lack of parental love is the chief contributor...”

Sometimes it is.

Other times, well, some people are just plain mentally damaged in one way or another, and they snap.

And the real problem is that sometimes there’s no way to tell before it happens. Some people give off signals, but others don’t.

Nobody knows what was in that kid’s head except him.

Probable cause:

1. Sarah Palin’s target symbolism.
2. The school had an overt “zero tolerance” for weapons policy.
3. Large clips.

Yeah...that’s the ticket...another really, really, really, really, TOUGH gun law would’ve stopped this cold in its tracks...

It’s worked so well before...

Guns are even more a common factor in school shootings. Get rid of them and no more shootings.

The real question to be asking is why now? Schools and guns were there in the 50s-60s-70s. What's changed?

Two things that come to mind as new now are Global Warming, and vastly more kids on mind-altering prescriptions.

IMO, The defense prefers crazy to premeditation and the prosecution prefers gun confiscation to justice.

Sad event and a learning opportunity for sadistic cliques.

I, too, am weary of everything being blamed on “bullying”.

And when something terrible happens, like this, or a suicide, the police doing the investigating normally keep things quiet, while the know-nothing gossipmongers spread all their expert theories.

In this case - what was wrong with this kid? From the article...

“A picture began to emerge of a troubled boy who lived with his grandfather, his legal guardian, after his dad, who had a history of domestic violence and served time in prison, was warned by police to stay away.
Court records, pored over by the local media, showed both his father and mother had been charged with domestic violence against each other between 1995 and 1997.
The father was later charged with assaulting a police officer and served time in prison after holding a woman’s head under running water and bashing it into a wall, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported, citing court records.”
