CNN Founder Ted Turner 'Spends One Week Each Month With A Different Girlfriend'
Telegraph(UK) ^ | February 29, 2012 | Nick Allen

CNN Founder Ted Turner 'Spends One Week Each Month With A Different Girlfriend' Ted Turner, the 73-year-old billionaire founder of CNN, has revealed that he has four girlfriends each of whom he spends one week with a month.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter the media mogul and philanthropist, who owns 28 homes including 14 ranches, said a week per month for each girlfriend was "pretty much the general rule." By Nick Allen 29 Feb 2012

Turner and his third wife Jane Fonda divorced in 2001, after 10 years of marriage, and the Oscar-winning actress has been replaced in his personal life by a complicated arrangement involving a quartet of other women. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter the media mogul and philanthropist, who owns 28 homes including 14 ranches, said a week per month for each girlfriend was "pretty much the general rule." He only named one of the women, the novelist Elizabeth Dewberry, who was with him at the time in New York. Until five years ago Miss Dewberry was married to the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Robert Olen Butler.

When they separated Butler wrote an email to friends, which was leaked to the media, in which he said: "She will not be Ted's only girlfriend.

Ted is permanently and avowedly non-monogamous. But though he has several girlfriends, it is a very small number, and he does not take them up lightly."

Asked if the other three unnamed women in his life were happy to share him, Turner replied: "Sort of." He still speaks to Fonda about once a month and, according to one friend, is "still in love with her."

He could stop this at any time... but he doesn`t. This is his choosing.. as was his arrogant bashing of Christians and conservatives.

I`ll save my pity for someone who deserves it.

Wow, 28 homes and 14 ranches to be Occupied! What an opportunity. I’m sure Ted would support them. He would even loan them the girls.

..who owns 28 homes including 14 ranches, said a week per month for each girlfriend was "pretty much the general rule."

This man took his fathers lucrative advertizing sign business and used it to purchase and play with Channel 17 in Atlanta. He had one brilliant idea of putting Channel 17 all over cable for virtually nothing. Another very brilliant idea of starting up a 24 hour cable news operation that became CNN (a lucky break in Iraq I propelled it to the excesses of liberal guilt). This success just fueled his basic personality flaws. The point of this? 28 homes, 14 ranches, 4 girlfriends replacing a then loyal divorced first wife and family, and deeply disturbed 'boy' with no controls and too much money. There isn't anything substantive or worthy to listen to. I hope another Madoff comes along and screws him out of all his money.

Can’t imagine being SOoooo lonely that you have to see multiples.

They’re probably local, live-in nurses as one actual love would not want to travel that much. Professional, old women that like to be seen out with a man once in a while and have him pick up the food and dry-cleaning tab.

Playing it safe leads to this. Sad.

“Ted Turner 73 revealed he has four girlfriends who he spends time with each weekend” and then proceeded to share the name of each “girl” finger on his right hand.

just because you lost that loving feeling, doesn't mean others have to... where in the history of man kind does it say giving up sex is prerequisite for being an adult?

I have always been happy with one woman, one house and 2 children. For me, its been a great life with one lifelong companion to love and care for and to receive the same.

I imagine he has never found someone who truly loves and understands him, or for whom he cares for equally.

I’d love to have his financial wealth but his lifestyle and character is unappealing.

A young man visiting with a group of friends, both male and female, asked one of the girls, "Would you have sex with me for $100?" The girl, indignant, shot back, "Absolutely not! I wouldn't sell myself for money!" He asked her again, "Would you have sex with me for $10,000?" She replied with pretty much the same answer.

He continued to up the amount of money and asked if, really, he could pay her a million dollars, would she have sex with him just one time. She replied, "Perhaps, for a million dollars, I might consider it."

He then told her, "You're a prostitute!" She angrily replied that she was not a prostitute. He answered, that yes, indeed she was a prostitute; that had already been established and they were now just arguing about the price.

But then again it’s got to bring a warm feeling to your heart knowing that the regime will be supplying his paramours with free contraception . . .

He sounds like a pretty typical hollywood kook, who is completely lost in the excesses of wealth, that will lead him straight to hell when he dies of a sex and drug induced demise. He is likely facing an unusually warm climate in the afterlife, as are other anti-american, anti-God liberal pukes.

He seems to have undergone an awakening of some kind lately though, and become more tolerant of religion, as usually happens when his type gets closer to their end, but this story seems to suggest he is slipping backwards. Oh well, it's your soul, Ted.

The fact that he sees it necessary to own 28 homes and 14 ranches, suggests that he will never be able to fit through the eye of the needle, just like the camel.

There was a time, long ago, he was compared to Howard Hughes, it’s unfortunate that, in his declining years that he clinging to that image.

Where's the criticism of the four silk-stocking prostitutes hired by Turner! Next to them, Jane Fonda comes out looking like Mother Theresa.

(.....well, not exactly, but you get my drift. At least she got him to marry her).

Observations:

Disclaimer: I'm a divorced, single, 56 year old Evangelical Christian ... loves America the Beautiful and History ...

Ted Turner is probably emotionally LOST in the woods, having lost the "love of his life" Jane Fonda (I'm not endorsing her, BTW, certainly not my type by a couple of light-years) ...

Losing one's "Love of Their Life" ... either through abandonment, death, infidelity or sickness ...

is a soul-wrenching experience ...

Whether that "Love" be a romantic partner, child, career, profession, business, elected office, military battle, best friends, a cherished home ... and even the love of our parents and brothers or sisters ...

Money, and obscene amounts of it ... are Ted's anethesia to his life's great disappointments ... and that money purchases:

1) Beautiful, Intelligent Women's company (dinners and intimacy) ...

Yet, even the desired pronouncements of an "I love You" are empty phrases, literally bought by the pound ... as Shakespeare lamented in "The Merchant of Venice" ...

2) Beautiful houses and gardens, filled to the brim with the best art work, beach and mountain views ... cleaned and maintained by a regiment of nameless, faceless "drones" ... with titles like .... Chef, Butler, Cleaning Lady, Pool Man, and Gardener ...

3) World-wide travels (on a whim) to "anywhere" ...

To the point that another (dreary) visit to Rome's Cistine Chapel is like the "rest of us" driving up to Publix or Wal-Mart for the week's groceries ...

As I'm writing this, "Citizen Kane" comes to mind ... and the huge Fireplace that appears in different scenes of the movie ... growing larger each time ...

Myself, Citizen Kane, Ted Turner ... all need to read Ecclesiastes sometimes ... perhaps once a year ...

"Vanity, Vanity ... All is Vanity ..."

A Life Well Lived -- Pastor Tom Nelson -- Denton Bible Church - (click)

I don't write this as a smug "Baptist" criticism of Ted Turner ...

Rather that Ted Turner ... like Howard Hughes, Madonna, and Tiger Woods ...

Have missed Life Greatest Blessings ... confusing great sex with genuine intimacy, and mega-millions with genuine peace and contentment ...

We all need to be careful to "not" walk down those same deceptive paths ... starting with myself ...

Whatever they want, living like royalty. I suspect the three weeks away from Ted is part of the appeal of the role.
