How to defuse the Fluke Issue: a suggestion
Self | 3 Mar 2012 | Self

Posted on 03/03/2012 12:40:31 PM PST by Salgak

Several of my friends have been discussing the Fluke issue, and the larger issue of the entire Mandate. It's flamingly obvious that this is to get the discussion away from the economy in general, and gas prices in particular.

And THEN a friend had the idea: USE it to turn the talk back to the Economy:

How bad is the economy when a young woman can’t even afford the price of a condom?

or

This poor young woman can’t afford to pay for her own birth control. Four years ago, she could have. . . .

Any better ideas ??

“I’m not asking her to pay for my car so why is she asking me to pay for her birth control pills?”

“Well, I’ll let other people argue over whether ‘slut’ is the proper term for a sexually promiscuous woman. I just feel sorry for someone who’s 30 years old, has already gotten one degree, and still can’t afford to buy birth control”

Bingo!

“When Sarah was called a c*nt and they made fun of her retarded child THAT WAS FINE, but if an entertainer remarks about the nocturnal habits of a slattern, well then that is a HANGING CRIME...”

The double-standard is HUUUUGE.

It’s the truth, so I’m sure that it won’t catch on in the MSM.

Still, nothing is won via defense, so I think he should just keep focusing on inflation, unemployment, and high gas-prices in particular.

I have a different idea. Where are the conservative reporters going to Georgetown to find out about all the sex that is happening? Let’s get these coed’s on tape telling us how they are suffering due to the high cost of sex.

There is nothing to defuse.

Two things are happening here

Leftist are using this to distract about the economy.

Leftists are using this to vilify conservatives.

Limbaugh said that he thought women would not want to be infantalized by government nannies and that HE thought that they were bright enough and responsible enough to take care of their own birthcontrol issues.

Interesting how the left is staying on message, birthcontrol and womens health, to alienate women from conservatives, following the media lies about Santorum.

This is their wedge issue and conservatives had better take it back strongly. We see women and strong and able to make desisions and take responsibility for our bodies.

REMEMBER, IT IS OUR BODIES, OURSELVES, leftists, not OUR BODIES, OUR GOVERNMENT.

To connect her plight to the economy, why not say..”GIVEN THE RISING PRICE OF GASOLINE, SHE CAN’T GO TO THE DRUG STORE TO PICK UP HER BIRTH CONTROL PILLS NOR GO RIDING AROUND PICKING UP STRANGE MEN AND HAVING SEX IN THE BACK SEAT OF HER CAR.” Does that work?

A Statement from Rush
March 03, 2012

For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.

I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit? In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone’s bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.

My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.

Yes, it sound as though the economy has gotten her down and she is trolling for the position of “courtesan” or “kept woman”. Perhaps she should look for a job as a governess somewhere in order to keep her reputation intact. Oh, I guess it’s too late for that! (I’ve been reading way to many historical romances lately.)

“How bad is the economy when a young woman can’t even afford the price of a condom?”

That’s not bad, actually. First, the debate has to do with, primarily, the unconstitionality of Obamacare and, secondarily, the unconstitutionality of this particular mandate (violation of the 1st Amendment).

The Democrats have concocted a ridiculous assertion to change the dynamic of the conversation because they know they can’t win the debate on the actual topic. “How bad is the economy when a young woman can’t even afford the price of a condom?” is just as ridiculous an assertion and is completely unanswerable from Democrats who are back to defending the economy, which they wanted to divet attention from in the fist place.

I like it.

That's actually pretty good.

Defuse the issue MY ASS!!! These low down rotten bastids want a fight and we had better be ready to give it to them. These cultural marxists are utterly dishonest, corrupt, destructive and care nothing for the truth. To evade a fight with these contemptible parasites is to fail in our duty to God and the self evident truths ot the Declaration.

. . .which is why I’m suggesting we turn it right back at them.

Think of it as political ju-jitsu: they made it an issue, we use it to counter-attack them. . .

Better ideas? Yes, several but the most basic: If this person is going to engage in immorality then then she can pay her own way.

The only problem is finding a Republican with the balls to say, “If she needs $1,000/year in taxpayer money for birth control, and condoms are available at 3/dollar on Amazon, then she is having sex 3,000 times a year. She needs to get off her back and get a job!”

Actually, all we need is for a GOP-E type to ask, “Why should I pay for her to have sex, if she isn’t having it with me?”
