(Reuters) - Three Occupy Oakland protesters accused of surrounding and taunting a woman before stealing her wallet were charged on Friday with robbery and hate crimes, authorities said.
Michael Davis, 32, Nneka Crawford, 23, and Randolph Wilkins, 24, confronted the woman on the streets of Oakland in February after she told them not to riot in her neighborhood, the Oakland Police said in a written release.
"She was surrounded by three protestors and battered as they yelled vulgar epithets regarding their perception of her sexual orientation," Oakland Police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said.
The female victim was not identified except as a 20-year resident of the neighborhood.
"Her wallet was taken during the crime," Watson said. "The victim broke away from the group and called police, who were able to arrest one suspect near the scene."

Considering the typical occupiers, what did they do? Call her straight? Maybe monogamous? Or did Reuters write the article about it being Tea Party protesters and then found out at the last minute that they were actually Occupiers?
I still think the Occupiers are ticked off that the Tea Party folks got the better name.

Not to excuse their behavior but were they really hate crimes or could they have been crimes of extreme dislike? Maybe they were only extreme reactions to feelings of moderate aversion?
Do they have a machine that registers the emotional attachment/detachment to crime?
Prosecute the crimes and drop this leftist “Hate Crime” BS. Even if it is a bunch of leftists being prosecuted for them. Thought crime prosecution is a very, very slippery slope.
Imagine what the liberal media would have done if these had been Tea Partiers instead of Occuthugs.

I’ve read nothing but the title, and before I even read a single word of the article, I’m going to guess that the victim was a gay male, because that is really the only victim it could be for a bunch of commie hippies to beat on and be charged with a hate crime. My first thought is that McDonald beating where the only real issue was that it was a trangender freak and that is why the black girls were charged with hate crimes. I’m guessing the same here.
