Rush: Sponsors 'practically begging to come back'

PALM BEACH, Fla. – After national controversy over his calling a Georgetown University law student a “slut” and “prostitute,” radio giant Rush Limbaugh says he has brand-new sponsors lined up to advertise on his program, and some who had canceled are now asking to return.

“We have three brand-new sponsors that will be starting in the next two weeks,” Limbaugh said this afternoon, adding he was not going to identify them today.

Two of the sponsors who have canceled have asked to return. We are being very careful about that. I’m not gonna give you any names here. One of them is practically begging to come back.”

There have been reports among some news agencies that at least 40 advertisers have abandoned Limbaugh’s top-rated program since the furor involving Sandra Fluke’s push for insurance-covered birth control erupted last week, but Limbaugh said those news outlets are not being honest.

“Because they lie, and because they don’t understand how it works,” he said. “Everything is fine on the business side. Everything is cool. There is not a thing to worry about. Whatever you’re seeing on television about this program and sponsors and advertisers is just incorrect.”

In 2004? Peroutka from the Constitution Party. In 2008? Chuck Baldwin from The Constitution Party. In 2000? Howard Phillips Founder of The Constitution Party. Those were my General Election POTUS votes. I do remember in those years voting for Alan Keyes in the GOP Primaries except possibly in 2008 I'm not certain he was on my states primary ballot.

I voted for Bush in 1992 actually. I consider it a mistake considering the damage the man did in just four short years by abandoning the Reagan policies. But you like many other "My Party is never wrong" voters refuse to hold the GOP accountable. That is why persons like Mitt know they have nothing too fear. BTW had Poppy simply help to Reagan's policies which is what actually got him elected, he would have had a landslide against Clinton in 1992. Clinton ran right of the GOP's beloved Liberal Poppy. As a result Poppy lost his second term.

Because that forum is no more. LOL Come on you’ve been in here long enough to remember that site and the problems it caused several forums. It shut down about 6 years ago and was a haven for Trolls. I lurked in there for a short while gathering needed info to out a Troll somewhere else. LOL. I do remember some of the user names I saw though. :>}

my entire diocese of 50 parishes had a letter read from the bishop stating that the Obama administration had declared war on the Catholic Church with the contraception mandate. The Left will not stop until they force Obamacare with a full abortion, contraception, ‘partner’ support, the works on everyone. Alinsky was a radical atheist whose motivations were driven against truth, and as such, people of faith who believe in certain irrefutable truths. It can be tremendously damaging to society, but we really have the capacity to wake up and fight back.

I detest what Obama stands for but I can’t thank him enough for forcing us to decide who and what we are and will be as a people. It is hard to believe that such an empty suit of a man may well be the key for the strong to stand up and reclaim our American culture.

thanks Hostage, for a very helpful post. I am not a lawyer (went to business school instead) but what you state about severability and the need for Congress to vote on it again is exactly my understanding. Michele Bachmann spoke to this in her campaign and corrected Romney’s stance that Obamacare could be simply stopped by executive order.

I suppose that short of a re-vote they can withhold funding, but as you say, the taxable provisions are still there. If the GOP has another strong, conservative result this year as in 2010, there can be impetus in the direction of private plans. Employment as we knew it, will change. Employers will hire far fewer direct employees and use more contractors. The need for personal, private plans will be critical. We will see.

The FR mail was simply for answering your question as to why I would go to CP and it did not involve anyone on this thread. I had good reasons as I explained too you. I was not a member of CP.
