New Blacklist: Meatloaf 'Banned' For Being Republican
Breitbart ^ | 3/9/12 | John Nolte

Posted on 03/09/2012 1:05:17 PM PST by Nachum

Those of us who understand how the New Blacklist works aren't at all surprised to hear Meatloaf's claim that after being outed as a Republican he now has fewer media outlets interested in helping him to promote his work.

But it's the reaction of the Esquire writer that's most interesting:

MEATLOAF: I'm not dealing with those subjects. Hell in a Handbasket is not dealing with the political nature of the country. It's dealing with the humanity and the compassion of the world. I can give you an example — I've been banned from two TV shows.

ESQUIRE: For what?

ML: Because USA Today has me listed as a Republican.

ESQ: And the shows don't want Republican guests?

ML: Yeah. I've heard those stories, but I didn't really believe they'd do that.

ESQ: So the real issue you're getting at on the album is a lack of humanity and compassion in the world?

Quite frankly, I hope that Jimbo does kick off any romney supporters... this is not and has never been a republican site and I am sick and tired of these moderates that pretend to be Conservative, promoting their progressive propaganda. I am not talking about many but a vocal few who most recognize.

Kind of a childhood remembered moment. Back rows of the drive in, steamed up windows, youthful lust, Great times. Most of us turned out normal raised families and complain about today's youth.

Show business is a nasty business. I left it over a decade ago and I still feel dirty. It doesn’t do much for a resume.

Parents who get their children into show business are guilty of Child Abuse, IMHO.

It shouldn’t be a Republican site, but it is treated as such. Way too many mindless partybots here for far too long. Sorry, kids, but there is a worse thing than Democrat leftism and that’s Republican leftism. If the GOP wants to commit suicide by Socialism, it will do so without my help.

Are we talking godless Libertarians or God-Family-Country conservatives?

Heavy Metallers tend to be more conservative.....it’s the so-called “alternative” and “grunge” bands that tend to be the most lefty (see, “Foo Fighters”)

Recovering from a migraine...and first thought upon reading the title was meatloaf, as in mashed potatoes and meatloaf. But, on second, maybe meatloaf can be construed as Republican too. :-)

then JimRob is going to have to can 3/4 of his membership since we’re set on getting Obama out of office no matter who is the nominee.

3/4? Is that a rectal estimate?

If you are labeled a Pubbie’, you are done for.

OOOHHH, OOOHHH, idea! Let's out a lot of libs as closet conservatives who only talk the liberal talk, then sit back and munch popcorn while they eat each other!

Too bad we can't do it (bearing false witness).

I’m safe on that issue at least since not being American I cannot vote for anyone. I support conservative causes and just shake my head at what looks like another election from hell coming up.

The channel would not be the problem.
The problem would be finding new material to show on it and the actors to perform in the new material.
New “conservative” material is next to non-existent; finding actors willing to be “pigeon-holed” as “conservative” would be hard, too.
After all, they’d never work in Hollyweird again...
