[According to] a Japanese government study: Almost a third of Japanese boys aged 16-20 and three-fifths of girls say that they have no interest in sex.
The hormones of late adolescence evidently rage in vain against some cultural barrier that makes young Japanese "despise" sexual relations, according to the Japan Family Planning Association's report [1].
It turns out that the ultimate victim of sexual revolution is sex itself.
What makes the Japanese hate sex? The same things that make a growing proportion of Americans hate sex. Joan Sewell's 2007 book I'd Rather Eat Chocolate became the manifesto of American women who don't like sex, hailed at the as "the next wild turn in the female sexual revolution" by Sandra Tsing Loh in The Atlantic Monthly [2].
Pharmaceutical companies are racing to market a pill to revive fading female libido, to no avail: women do not want to be sex objects, and a culture that objectifies women will make them hate sex, as I wrote in this space five years ago [3]. But the problem has gotten worse than I imagined it would.

Guys of 22 with erectile dysfunction, so desensitized by porn they can't get it up for a flesh-and-blood woman.
And just about universal consensus that a woman who hasn't been chemically spayed -- neutered --- "fluked" ---with endocrine disruptors, isn't fit for sex.
That's asexual Japan; the Planned Parenthood world; the hooked-up-and-then-got-tired-of-hooking-up culture.
Not loving? It's not even user-friendly.
Call it the "Sexual Revolution" what you want, but I sure wouldn't call it sexy.
Do anything enough, yes even sex, and it becomes old hat.
The fact that teenagers are so oversexed that they are bored with it seems to be lost on many. Couple that with Homosexuals marketing the ‘adolescent boy’ body type for girls as ‘sexy’ doesn’t do much for hetro boys anymore who make up the vast majority.
Video games become a ‘better’ even more enjoyable option.
Bizzarre I know. But it sure looks like it to me.

To do my patriotic duty as a compassionate, patriotic conservative American, I will stand and assist you in this humanitarian endeavor.

Junior gets to play with his video games, and if he is getting acceptable grades; really has no further expectations upon him. He is segregated from Girls, and see's them little more than a parasite that will bond to him, and force him into a life of servitude; and eventaully a family - thus forcing him to take on the role of a father whom he neither really knows, and may will despise for abandoning him.
How else do you reject and denounce a culture you find to be the anti-thesis to the lifestyle you hold dear? He is the most important person in his life, he can do no wrong, it is wrong for anyone to expect him to do anything for anyone else. He is entitled to live a life in suclusion, to play games and postpone adulthood indefinitely; that is how he was raised.

My Japanese exchange students (college age) seem to go on dates and have boyfriends. They have said, though, that video games have changed Japanese boys. Fifteen years ago, they were outside skateboarding. Now they are all indoors gaming.
Lots of Japanese women look great well past 50.
Sex without love is like masturbating with a partner, add love and sex is wonderful.
I'm not an expert in sex through history, but I will say this: historically, hygiene has been bad, health has not been great, and food consumption has occasionally been problematic. Sex drives go up if you have food, health, and if the people around you are trying to look like Hollywood glitterati. In the past, there was less reason to get excited.
In addition, contraceptives have been uncommon and childbirth has been risky for women. Sex had consequences -- people knew that not so long ago. Children died. Women died. Bastards were not popular. These were reasons why some people were careful. I'll also point out that venereal disease has been difficult to cure.
Let me be clear: People have been "doing it" forever. Adultery, prostitution, and premarital sex are not new inventions. BUT MY POINT is that in the not so distant past, sex was not approached as casually and as ubiquitously as we did in the 20th century.
If societies start to downplay sex as a prime recreational activity, it might be a very good thing -- and a far more natural thing.

True, but previously their mom’s and dads were teaching them and trying to protect them.
I know a lot of moms who seem to live vicariously through their 13, 14, and 15 year old girls.
It appears that the Japanese Family Planning Association has "succeeded" itself out of a job. They might as well shred their business cards and rent out the office space for a senior citizens' pachinko parlor ...
I think declaring the “end of sex” is a little like declaring the “end of history”: such proclamations should be taken with a large dose of skepticism.
That being said, I do think that the availabilty of unlimited amounts of porn is having an effect on the American (world?) libido. It serves to desensitize because the thrills you can get from watching it might exceed one’s own performance in real life. I think this applies more to men than to women.
And the impact of technology on the libido is justin its infancy. It is just a matter of time before we master the mind-computer interface. And then, watch for people to download intense sexual experiences right into their heads—perhaps to the degree that you can’t tell it from reality. It’s Sci-Fi for now, but probably not for long. And when that happens....watch out!

That’s a discussion that goes back before even the alt.2600 days and Mondo 2000. The second that actual ‘cybersex’ becomes reality society as we know it ends. What results is anyone’s guess, but when you ban download sex with the ‘star’ of your choice into the brain and have an indistinguishable from real experience, most things like dating/marriage et all the money associated with it becomes unneeded. Birthcontrol is toast. most stds eliminated in short order. When you add it all up, it’s incredible.
Populations fall drastically as do the needed support structures..
Gee...wonder why they are also developing new scientific ways to ‘give birth’...
