Peyton Manning picks Broncos

Peyton Manning will become the next quarterback of the Denver Broncos, barring a snag during intensified contract negotiations that have commenced under the instruction of the four-time MVP to his agent Tom Condon, according to multiple sources.

Once the Manning deal becomes official, Denver will try to trade Tim Tebow, according to sources.

A contract between the two sides is expected to be a formality. Elway and Manning first discussed the parameters of a five-year, $95 million contract during their March 9 meeting in Denver, the first time the quarterback visited a team during his free agency.

Elway then told Manning during the Friday, March 16 trip to Durham, N.C. -- where the quarterback has done the majority of his training -- that he wanted to finalize a contract "fair to both sides." Neither side expects any hangups.

However, details such as guaranteed money, structure of the deal and contract language designed to protect the Broncos in the event of Manning's inability to perform due to his prior neck surgeries all will be addressed in the contract, sources said.

Maybe the Colts here in Indiana can have Tebow.

I’d sure like it ;)!

Manning is actually making more money than the Colts would have paid him. He signed a 5-yr, $90 million dollar contract last Spring. The Broncos are paying him $95 million for 5 yrs. The guarantee maoney may be different though. But if he plays out all 5 yrs then, he makes more with Denver.

If they keep Tebow, I agree. If they let Tebow go .... sad day. A very sad day.

I suppose this is an upgrade over Tebow. But it won’t make much difference until the other holes in the roster are addressed....specifically running back.

I am a Rams fan, butthis smelled like a good place for Manning to land. John Elway made one of the single greatest decisions a football player ever made by refusing to play for the Colts.

Bronco fans are rabid, loyal, intelligent and hate the Cowboys. Exceptional traits.

The franchise is committed to winning it all, and it is no insult to the fine young Tim Tebow to be replaced by a top-tier Hall of Famer.

Now the aforementioned John Elway gets to share Irsay stories with P. Manning, and all Manning can see are the two consecutive rings that Elway rang up in the twilight of his career with a team that was completely committed to him.

Best to you Peyton Manning. May you squash the Steelers and Patriots, and may you have success until you meet Mr. Bradford in the Super Bowl (SB IL?)

The Colts can and should draft Andrew Luck. Miami and Jacksonville should be very interested in Tebow. Cleveland should consider trading from him as well.

Being Tebow to Miami. He wants to play in Florida, but Jax doesn’t want him (they got the wonderful ex-Dolphin, Henne).

These guys are looking for magic bullets and they’re putting way too much emphasis on QB. Basic reality is that NO QB is going to help many of these teams which don’t have the receivers or the offensive line to allow a QB to function decently. The Redskins have ruined two franchise QBs in recent years (Ramsey and Gamble) simply by never having any semblence of protection in front of them and that arises from not drafting intelligently.

I would love to see Manning and Tebow in the backfield at the same time. They could run the wild bronco.

I really don’t care about any of this, except that I think Manning is running a terrible risk of being badly and permanently injured.
