LAPD to Ignore California’s Car Impound Law Because It’s “Unfair” to Illegal Aliens

Stand With Arizona

We have become sadly accustomed to California - America's Sanctuary State - sinking lower and lower into utter lawlessness for the sake of naked racial politics. But whatever they do in Sacramento doesn't even come close to the utter madness that is Los Angeles - which makes the rest of the state look conservative by comparison.

This week saw the Los Angeles Police Department announcing that it will soon start ignoring California state law, which requires police to impound the vehicles of unlicensed drivers for 30 days - because it is "unfair" to illegal aliens!

That's right. The LAPD's Chief Charlie Beck actually said "It's about fairness" to illegals. Beck says that the majority of unlicensed motorists in L.A. are "immigrants" who are in the country illegally and have low-income jobs. Therefore, according to Beck, the state's impound law is unfair because it limits their ability to get to their jobs and imposes a steep fine to get their car

Their "jobs"? Does Beck not realize that it is against Federal law for illegal aliens to obtain employment in any state? Does he not understand that these laws are there to punish existing law-breakers and also deter potential illegals from seeking employment?

Does he also not realize that a a 2011 AAA study titled "Unlicensed to Kill" found that unlicensed drivers are five times more likely to be involved in fatal crashes and more likely to flee the scene of a crime.

Sorry - you are confusing the LAPD Chief with an actual law enforcement officer concerned with protecting the public. Beck is serving his true constituency - illegal aliens and their La Raza protector Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

So while citizen drivers without a license elsewhere in California will lose their cars, illegal aliens in L.A. will have nothing to worry about - if the state and Feds do nothing about it.

For the full story on this latest L.A., insanity, and the thoughts of a victim's father, see the video report below. Pay particular attention to former L.A. Archbishop Cardinal Mahony - a radical left imigration activist - who has never shown the slightest compassion for the victims of illegal alien criminals - only for the lawbreakers themselves who make up the majority of his parishioners. He truly has no shame.

"...if government can ignore laws it thinks are “unfair” I am going to start ignoring laws I think are unfair too.

The remaining law abiding citizens in California should begin refusing to pay state income taxes, after all: such taxes are “unfair” because they are ultimately being used to fund and operate a criminal enterprise, i.e., state government.

Are you a liberal because that’s an emotional reaction...

Do you really think all LAPD feel that way? And do you really want people to die because of one person’s decison?

If they pay the price of their decisions they are more apt to change it .That will save many thousands of lives.

Enabling is a liberal philosophy.

It was the commission, not just one that made this political decision.

"which makes the rest of the state look conservative by comparison."

The sad thing is that there are many many conservatives in the State of California. We are out-numbered by the socialists in Frisco area, LA, and many in San Diego.

COOL! So I can start ignoring California laws just because I want to. What a great precedence this sets in a court of law. Think I will start carrying concealed, though Cali laws say I can't without the blessed permit.

Got it, Chief of Police. You won't enforce State laws, than I have no obligation to follow city laws. Test me.

Here's what I sent to Chief Bratton of Los Angeles:

Subject line: Hi Chief - Thanks for Your Help From a Vet:

Body: Being ex-military I admire what you and your officers do to protect us. I worked Shore Patrol in the Navy so have a small idea about law enforcement.

However, when you say you will ignore California law regarding illegal unlicensed drivers and not impounding their cars, you are breaking California law. To remind you, illegal aliens who cross our borders unlawfully are already misdemeanor criminals. That aside, they are often the cause of many crimes, not to mention many automobile wrecks on our streets. I can understand you wanting to be fair, but State law is law. You have no right to NOT enforce it.

Have you forgotten your Oath? It is forever. California law takes precedence over YOUR concern for "illegals".

Please renounce this decision. We all make bad decisions and I will continue to stand by you if you reverse this decision to ignore California state law.

Respectfully,

Rodger Hunter
(Navy: 1975-1987)

"We are a nation of laws and if government is going to decide to become lawless, the people will either make government observe the laws or we will start ignoring the laws we believe are unfair."

If the Chief of Police can ignore California statutes, then I can ignore Los Angeles statutes, and by extension State laws. I now reserve the right to ignore any infractions I may break if occurred in that city when visiting or transiting through.

This is beyond the pale regarding the illegal immigration issue. If the head LEO of Los Angeles can ignore State laws, then us citizens have been given precedence in ignoring city and State laws, also. This is going to go very bad for LA. Watch.

"Los Angeles District Attorney Steve Cooley wrote Chief Beck, saying his policy would be "invalid" in light of state law, which states a vehicle "shall be impounded." But supporters of Beck's decision say, regardless of the law, he's doing the right thing for illegal immigrants who cannot yet obtain driver's licenses here."

And illegal aliens should have a driver's license why? It would make NO difference to those illegals who cause car wrecks, since they just run make to Mexico. It happens time and again here in Cali.

"A low-income person doesn't have the ability to pay the fees after 30 days to get their car back," said Cardinal Roger Mahony, former Archbishop of Los Angeles and an immigration activist. "Basically, we're just creating more punitive problems for them."

Hey, Mahony, isn't there some boy in your congregation you need to molest? Boohoo. Tough shit for illegals. Their not suppose to be here in the first place. Do these bleeding-hearts have any idea how many of the California prison population are illegal aliens?

Oh, damn, those illegals need their car to steal our jobs and breed their little gangstas. Yes, I said that. Sue me. I know the truth of this illegal immigration issue because I've been involved with it since the early 90's.

From 1987 to 1997, I owned and managed a distribution warehouse in Pico Rivera (not far from East LA), and watched as the illegals took the jobs of citizens (lower pay) and changed the signage into Spanish. I was actually glad when bought out so I didn't have to drive to that cesspool every day.

Here's a thought for you racists: I don't give a s**t about the level of melatonin in your skin. However, I do care about cultural cohesiveness and mores. Many Mexicans do NOT want to assimilate into our highly successful European built culture.

I've live in California all my life (except for 3 years in Spain - Navy) and have watched Mexicans turn one town after another into the cesspool that is Mexico. They trash their streets, trash their homes, and pretty much make it look like Mexico, which is dirty and trashy. Don't like it, tough shit. It's a fact. Go to Tijuana or anywhere outside of the tourist areas and then tell me I'm wrong.

Used to be that immigrants were more appreciative of our culture that provided opportunity and they wanted to assimilate. Now, it's about changing our nation into something that looks like their old country. Islamists are working hard at doing that as I write this. England is already a lost cause due to their pandering to the Muslims. They are losing their culture quickly to a culture that has nothing to offer except for inhumane atrocity.

I am a culturalist! And proud of it! All cultures are not equal in regard to benefiting mankind. Lately, I'm not big on the myopic black culture, either. They can be so self-centered and whiny about anything that has to do with Blacks. And no, they are not African-Americans. They are either Africans OR Americans. I'm sick of all this divisive crap. I want us all to just be Americans. However, being a realist, I know it will only get worse.

Further proof that the rule of law is collapsing. Selective enforcement will only be exercised against those who challenge the right of the State to do as they please—conservatives and those who oppose the totalitarian overlords will be the targets for enforcement, not foreign criminals who invade and tear down our borders.
