Romney: Earth is warming, emissions cuts needed

Republican White House candidate Mitt Romney said Friday that global warming is real and that human activity is among the causes.

Reuters reports from New Hampshire:

Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy on Friday by saying he believes that humans are responsible, at least to some extent, for climate change.

"I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that," he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall meeting in Manchester, N.H.

"It's important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors."

The story later adds:

The United States cannot go it alone in attempting to trim emissions levels and give a free pass to countries such as China and Brazil, Romney said. "It's not called American warming, it's called global warming," he said.

Dumb, dumb, dumb: this is what happens when all your friends and acquaintances are Liberals. You end up asking the opinions of the wrong people.

This is from almost a year ago! Romney may have changed by now. He changes positions faster than a neutrino changes flavors!

"Mitt Romney said Friday that global warming is real and that human activity is among the causes,"

That does it for me. Santorum was right. There's no difference between Romney and Obama.

Glaciers have been melting and the planet has been warming for the last 20,000 years and all of a sudden it's my fault???

If Romney is the best the GOP can come up with, Obama has already won the election.

So Santorum is correct.

You may as well vote for Obama.

We need to at least vote republican down ticket.

Yep. That's the type of conservatism that warms the cockles of every member of the elite Republican establishment wing of the ruling class. How in the hell did he get the nod of Freedom Works and Jim DeMint? Truly amazing to see a rout in 2010 turned into a limp wristed, light purple surrender. Next thing you know, he'll tell us how Obamacare has it's finer points. Hey Mitt, tell it to the guy who washes your wife's Cadillac, OK?

If he gets the nomination, I will vote for him just to get rid of Obama. I will cast my vote with absolutely NO enthusiasm. (I had the same feeling about McCain, but at least he had Palin on the ticket.)
