Obama's disbelief after staring into N. Korea [Rampant naivety on display]
AFP/yahoo ^ | March 26, 2012 ? | Stephen Collinson

After squinting through binoculars into a nation frozen in time, US President Barack Obama reeled off a contempt-laden and startlingly frank indictment of North Korea.

The Stalinist remnant of the Cold War was, in Obama's eyes, nothing but a nation which cannot make "anything of any use", "doesn't work", and even its vaunted weapons exports were hardly state of the art.

"It is like you are in a time warp," Obama said Sunday, after he toured a rocky border post in the demilitarised buffer zone that has split the Korean peninsular for longer than he has been alive.

"It is like you are looking across 50 years into a country that has missed 40 years or 50 years of progress," Obama marvelled later...

...he seemed unable to process the logic of three generations of leaders who had kept their people imprisoned, impoverished and in thrall to successive personality cults.

"If a country can't feed its people effectively, if it can't make anything of any use to anybody, if it has no exports other than weapons and even those aren't ones that in any way would be considered state of the art.

"If it can't deliver on any indicators of well-being... for its people... then you'd think you'd want to try something different," Obama said in a highly undiplomatic and unusually frank public appearance.

"There are certain things that just don't work and what they are doing doesn't work."

——I doubt that it will move him one bit.——

It will be different here, because Obama and his fellow “intellectuals” will be in charge.

When Russian friends of ours asked us why liberals are hell-bent on socialism, I tell them what Ted Kennedy said, that it will be different when they’re in charge.

The Russians just shook their heads in disbelief.

I seem to remember someone in the Clinton administration commenting that the only reason Communism failed in Russia was because "the wrong people were in charge"

This is a false flag meant to lead the American (and international) public to believe that Obama would not want to steer our country in N. Korea's same totalianistic government form.

He is proclaiming to the world that he is observing that such oppression is WRONG.

Of course it's just the opposite. He is evil to do this. He is evil, period.

Yes, when Obama looked into North Korea, he was looking into a mirror of his Obama regime’s trajectory.

We MUST stop him before our nation begins an irretrievable descent into darkness.

This is surrealistic pot calling the kettle black.

“It is like you are looking across 50 years into a country that has missed 40 years or 50 years of progress”

because they’ve lived the system that you [0bama] want to impose on us, you assclown.

There is a dangerous human tendency to want to cash in on our "investment" in society to live the good life today. If you force oil companies or drug companies to sell their products at little or no profit, there won't be any new innovations. Its true that, say, modern drugs and lifesaving techniques cost a lot. But ones that were developed 10 or 20 years ago are now cheap. And 10 or 20 years from now, today's drugs and lifesaving techniques will be cheap. Same with pretty much any technology. Today's American "poor" live better than the middle class of probably 2/3rds of the rest of the world, all because of Capitalism.

Yet Obama wants to tear it all down. He wants everyone to have the best technology and best of everything today, so the companies and the rich should simply give it to the poor. That is how you end up like North Korea -- by ending innovation. Its not "dictatorship" as Obama suggested. While dictatorship is bad, some dictatorships encouraged capitalism and flourished. Think of China in the 80s, Chile in the 70s and, for that matter, most of Europe in the 1800s.

Its Communism and Obama's Socialism that will lead to stagnation of living standards, not dictatorship.

Obama wants us and the rest of the free world to think that if he ever did believe in totalinarianism prior, he now, upon physical observation of such, has been enlightened.

How would Obama be able to really see, in merely looking through binoculars from afar, that their basic government model is so flawed as to cause him to make such a "profound" all-encompasing proclamation?

It just doesn't otherwise make sense.

He is purposefully trying to point us all in the opposite direction of his true, core feelings/beliefs.

A glimpse into how his mind works.

The last 3 years of the Obama regime are eerily similar to Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged”. The trains to nowhere. The government grab for power at our expense.

All we need now is the death machine (I think that’s already through beta testing) and a general strike by all working non government dependent Americans.

I bet the N. Koreans have free health care, though. Other than having such a dynamic, god-like leader, what more could you want?

Obama has no concern about North Korea. He doesn’t see it as a negative example nor a problem.

I am absolutely certain his view is: their problem with socialism is, they don’t have Barack Obama.

obama probably is of the belief that communism is a worker’s paradise, like so many of his fellow travelers and his media. None of these usefull idiots have ever seen the effects of communism up close and personal.

I think there is nothing like seeing something first hand.

I went to Russia in 1994, it it’s early transition from being the USSR. It made a committed capitalist out of me! Up to that time, I liked my country and democracy, but I thought, “Oh, why can’t we all get along?” Why did Reagan seem so spooked when he had been President, finding Communism a dire threat lurking behind every bush?

Then I saw what a crazy, depressing place that central planning had produced, with weird rules and ugly, deteriorating, results. It’s the only country I’ve ever visited that I have been relieved to leave.

Reagan was right, a nation that re-divides the economic pie without growing it, is not just a different way to live. It’s a horror from which free people should run screaming.

I hope this truly made an impression on Obama, but he will probably see it as the result of decades of personal dictatorship only, and not the whole centrally planned system of communism.
