Gov. Christie Arrives in Israel
Arutz Sheva ^ | April 1, 2012 | Rachel Hirshfeld

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) landed in Israel Sunday for a four-day trip intended to “strengthen New Jersey’s economic and diplomatic relationships with foreign nations,” his office announced.

The trip, which is being labeled as the "Jersey to Jerusalem Trade Mission," includes members of the state’s Jewish and business communities, as well as the governor’s family. Christie’s office said he is scheduled to meet with diplomatic leaders and honor the region’s people, traditions and culture.

Christie also intends on travelling to Jordan where he will meet with King Abdullah II, before returning to New Jersey on Easter Sunday.

“It isn’t uncommon for governors to travel to Israel on trade missions, but the gesture is likely to feed speculation that Christie is laying the groundwork for higher office. High-profile visits to Israel have become a rite of passage for potential presidential candidates as they work to shore up their foreign-policy credentials and reassure conservatives that they support the strategic ally,” The Hill explained.

The trip is being co-sponsored by The Republican Jewish Coalition and Choose New Jersey, a nonprofit organization established by business executives to expand the state’s economy, according to the Star-Ledger newspaper.

Didn’t anyone tell the undisciplined, obese, overeating, blowhard oinker that he won’t be able to get pork chops and hog jowls in Israel? He’ll head home in two days.

Why would a governor have to visit a foreign nation on the job?

What a joke!

A free vacation on the taxpayers.

Good thing they didn’t give away the West Bank, or he wouldn’t fit.

Common sense would dictate that they don't try to pair up a couple of white-bread northeastern RINOs and hope for an electoral windfall north of the Mason-Dixon line. This election will transcend any general election pandering we've ever seen - putting a fat white guy on the bottom of the ticket won't generate much excitement in San Antonio. Willard's gonna need a one-legged, albino lesbian of Ugandan/Salvadoran descent to get the 'centrist' traction that RINO Corporate seems to be aiming for. I guess they figure that us conservative folks are going to have to wait for the next bus. Only I think the bus stop will have burned down by then.

He makes me look anorexic. How the hell can anyone let themselves get that mammoth and not ever talk to the doctor about it?

I don’t think that this is a sight-seeing tour. I think that Chris Christie is a possible running mate for whoever wins the GOP nomination. I just hope he doesn’t suffer any health problems on the trail if he’s chosen.

So what? The obamas always take FREE VACATIONS. I hope Gov Christie does a good job there and represents our country well and on the flip side of the coin I hope his wife and children have a marvelous time learning and enjoying themselves.
