President Obama on Monday issued stern language to the Supreme Court of the United States regarding his health care law, expressing confidence "Obamacare" will not be overturned by the nation's highest court. "I'm confident this will be upheld because it should be upheld," the president said Monday afternoon at a White House press conference that included ‪Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who are attending the North American Leaders' Summit. The president said overturning the law would be "an unprecedented and extraordinary step" and compared the court's rejection of the law to "judicial activism."

No no, he should just keep piling it on. That’s the way you get a completely independent branch of government to do exactly what you want, by calling them out as incompetent during the State of the Union address, then by browbeating them as an obvious and desperate campaign ploy.

Didn't the vote by the Supreme Court already take place? Wasn't there multiple stories last week about the necessity to maintain secrecy until the end of June?

Yes, you are correct but then again these are unusual times. Obama put Kagan in place for a reason.

The more articles on this I read the more I am becoming convinced... -The Court voted Obamacare down on Friday -Kagan immediately leaked the info to the WH -Barry is crapping himself and throwing a temper tantrum

I agree, he absolutely knows the outcome of the Supreme Court vote last Friday. He's mad and too much of a petulant narcissist to keep it under wraps. There is no doubt that it is Kagen. Anyone who would not recuse herself would have no problems blabbing to Obama.

“Can he be held in contempt of court for his behavior?”

Actually he should be in jail right now for turning the Constitution into a pretzel!

Kagan’s tenure on the court may be short if any conclusive evidence of her work on ObamaCare gets leaked to the public.

Leaks can be a two way street.

The president stressed that the judges are "unelected" and noted that the law was passed by a democratically elected Congress.

*******

Did President Obama just insult the Supreme Court Justices with his "unelected" comment above?

The president said overturning the law would be "an unprecedented and extraordinary step" and compared the court's rejection of the law to "judicial activism."

Wow.
Just Wow.

Dear Barry-Barrack-Obama-Soetoro : Some third grade civic facts.

In the United States, the three branches of government are co-equal, and none is superior to any other.

It would be unseemly for one branch to criticise the other. And only ONE branch is Constitutionally empowered to decide if a law is Constitutional or not. Of course, that won't prevent the ambitious or the insane from attempting to change that relationship and render one branch useless. But that's the way it is.

By the way, even mostly ignorant citizens are aware that many "democratically" adopted laws have been found "unconstitutional," without being "judicial activism."

The most abused branch is the Executive, with the Legislative" a close second.

I cannot recall any president in history threatening the Supreme Court...

Franklin Roosevelt did after the SC declared the National Industrial Recovery Act unconstitutional.

Legislation was introduced into Congress to increase the number of Justices by 4 to 6 (thus stacking the Court with "friendlies".)

For various reasons, the legislation didn't go anywhere, but the Court thereafter became much tamer and more New Deal friendly.

__________________________________________________________
The President is elected by the Electoral Congress which in turn has been selected by the voters on election day.

The Supreme Court is appointed by the Congress which in turn has been selected by the voters on election day.

Senators were originally selected by states.

All of these are established by our Constitutional Republic.

We are a Republic established by the Constitution, not a democracy (mob rule)as many on the left would like.

I hope he keeps running that corrupt mouth! Maybe he’ll piss them off enough to make them do what he’s threatening them not to.

He is completely ignorant of our country, its history, and its institutions.

Let him run his mouth and show himself to be the foreigner he is.

"Every speech should have him with megaphone in hand threatening and scolding SCOTUS for usurping his authority.

If I were Barry, I'd be very, VERY careful about avoiding use of the word "usurping" in any of his speeches. Ever.

Thanks for the ping, LucyT.

Because of the MSM's backing, he can do that. However, I gotta admit that 0b0z0 has the proverbial balls. Physically, he has none!

Can't say that much about the GOP-E, unfortunately.
