News Flash: grain is graded by rodent feces content, and it ALL has rodent feces in it.

I’m confused by the argument you are trying to make.

So grain has some feces in it and it is rated by this amount. As a result of this we shouldn’t care that we will get less quality meat as a result of this policy?

We’re all eating rat crap anyway you look at it.
Especially what comes from the WH.

They won’t be happy until thousands are literally dying from eating tainted chicken.

So lets not even bother trying to keep the food we eat uncontaminated?

My dad always lamented the fact chicken never tasted as good as the “barnyard” variety he grew up with — picking oats out of the manure of other animals. It’s good ecology . . . and the flavor can’t be beat.

True, but on the bright side, that’s how we got cats.

That’s a stupid thing to say.

You can try all you want to keep your food clean. Good luck with that.

Your still getting rat crap from the WH.

My cousin worked for grain supplier at a sea port during college where they had huge silos, 100 foot or more. When the emptied a grain silo, the very bottom had to be shoveled out and swept by hand. Choking dust, live rats and dead birds.

Some older municipal water towers commonly have dead birds in them when they are inspected. The birds are crafty, they make their way in the overflow spouts, but can’t then escape. With the chlorine and the turnover rate of the water it doesn’t represent a risk, though it’s pretty nasty to think about.

So you think it's the government that assures the quality of your meat?

There’s no accounting for taste. When I walk my dogs through the pastures here, they have a habit of scarfing up deer droppings. Our bassett is especially fond of them, and it’s hard to drag him away.

Horse $hit!

With the state of tort law in this country it is in the best interest of the companies to limit the amount of tainted meat of any kind to zero! That being impossible, never stopped a smarmy lawyer from bringing suit against food service companies for any A-hole who doesn't cook their chicken to 165DEG.

I have been in several food factories from monster bakeries to huge industrial slaughter houses. They are very clean and sanitation is consistently the order of the day. The other huge consistency is that the USDA inspector spends more time napping than inspecting, typical of any government worker. They are also typically among the highest paid workers in the plant!

You are right. I heard a speech one time where the guy said the chickens scratched in the stuff and ate the things.

This article reports problems with contaminated poultry processing; not contaminated grain/feedstuff. The main point of the article highlights a reduction in USDA inspection capacity, which has the potential to let contaminated poultry products slip through.
