MODESTO, Calif. (AP) -- A Northern California teen who made national news when she and her high school teacher moved in together says she has broken off the relationship following allegations that he sexually abused another student.
Jordan Powers, 18, told ABC News ( http://abcn.ws/I3hJPw ) that when her now former boyfriend, Christopher Hooker, called her from jail she told him, "We're done."
Hooker, 41, was arrested Friday on suspicion of sexually abusing a different student more than a decade ago.
After being booked on one count of oral copulation with a minor, he made a brief court appearance during which a judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Powers and Hooker moved in together in February, with Powers dropping out of James Enochs High School in Modesto and Hooker quitting his teaching job there and leaving his wife and three children.

In my high school we had a couple of situations like this. One girl had a full ride scholarship to some school in the east and she threw it all away to marry a 50 year old administrator. ick
And another girl married the history teacher. ick

Gee, imagine that. An airheaded teen just can’t wait around until her old man gets out of jail. So much for true love.
They’re both to blame. Him for being a perv and hitting on a student. Her for ruining her senior year and being stupid.
Oh sure. Because it doesn't go on anywhere else in the country.
But it is California after all. You should see some of the web sites that come out of that state.
The young lady can recover if she wants to. “Daddy” is 60 years old before he goes free.
So did we. One was a hot young female teacher who "tutored" the high school boys after school. Two others were male teachers who married their little girlfriends. Everyone was happy. There were no complaints.
Because a 41-year-old man engages in sex with an 18-year-old woman does not mean he is perverted. Foolish, yes. Irresponsible, undoubtedly. Self-centered, of course. Short-sighted, boy howdy!
And if that were my daughter that guy would just wake up one day in the middle of nowhere with bruises over every inch of his body.
Now that she's job hunting she will see it's worth.
I don’t know of any other place with a Folson Street Fair (link to Zombietimes would get me banned from FR) and parades of naked, sex acts in public streets with kids watching.
What does that have to do with a teacher having an affair with a student? — a very common occurrence nationwide.
