Gingrich All But Concedes Race to Romney

April 8, 2012 Gingrich All But Concedes Race to Romney

By Nathan Hodge

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who once led the polls in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, all but conceded the race Sunday to his rival, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

In an interview with “Fox News Sunday,” Mr. Gingrich called Mr. Romney “far and away the most likely Republican nominee,” adding that he would throw his support behind the front-runner if Mr. Romney secured the required delegates for the nomination.

“If I end up not being the nominee, I have already talked to Chairman Reince Priebus at the Republican National Committee,” he said. “I’d want to work this fall to help defeat [President Barack] Obama any way I could. Whatever the team thinks I can do to be helpful, I would do.”

Both Mr. Gingrich and Mr. Romney hit each other hard during the primary race. “It turned out he had more things to hit with than I did,” Mr. Gingrich said. “And that’s part of the business.”

But while acknowledging Mr. Romney’s likely nomination, Mr. Gingrich said he would stay in the race to influence Republican thinking on issues from U.S. energy independence to revamping Social Security.

“Platforms matter in the long run in the evolution of the party,” he said. “And the party is more than just a presidential candidate. It’s Senate candidates, House candidates, state legislators.”

Mr. Gingrich’s comments come as Rick Santorum, Mr. Romney’s strongest remaining opponent, canceled campaign events on Monday after his youngest daughter, who has a genetic disorder, was hospitalized.

Does it really matter which globalist is empowered/SElected(emphases & paragraphing added)?

OThuga again would be the absolute worst Destroyer In Chief--though it might be a toss-up between he and Shrillery de Fosterizer de Machiavelli de Stalin de Sade . . . however, they all have the same goals in mind . . . the same old boy's club holding their feet to satan's fires and to their oaths thereto. They all want to trash all authentic Christianity as well as Israel, the family and Freedoms and our beloved Republic of the USA.

5. “Nationalism is... First wave. The globalization of business and finance by advancing Third Wave economies routinely punctures the national “sovereignty” the nationalists hold so dear...” “The Third Wave... demassifies culture, values, and morality... There are more diverse religious belief systems.” “The Consitution of the United States needs to be reconsidered and altered... to create a whole new structure of government...”
.

The Tofflers say fundamentalist, biblical Christianity is “both dangerous and regressive.” Beliefs in nationalism, patriotism, and an exclusive God, “give birth to violence or repression.” Only when these “Dark Age” menaces are swept away can “advanced wealth creation” by the elite be achieved. Newt Gingrich ..., member of both the World Future Society and the Council on Foreign Relations, wrote the forward to Alvin and Heidi Toffler’s Creating a New Civilization

Biblical prophecy about the global government is advancing more and more rapidly. The premeditated, deliberate trashing of the USA is just a major aspect of such forces, plans, efforts. The SElections have long been a farce as part of the bread and circuses distraction from the worse treason under the table.

“The most two qualified candidates in this race and the two who had over 80% chance of defeating Obama were destroyed by our own side because of the insane over rating of debates...Rick Perry and Tim Pawlenty...It is too late now...”

Couldn’t agree more. These were really the only two that got into the race that had good qualifications and relatively little baggage. One surrendered before the battle had barely begun (I still can’t understand why except possibly campaign debt), and the other self-destructed with poor debate performances.

And now, we’re stuck with Romney, which sickens me. I’m just praying that the SCOTUS strikes down Obamacare in todo, and that Romney picks a VP candidate that will energize the conservative base. Bobby Jindal would be a good choice I think, though there are a few others too.

If those two things happen-no Obamacare and a conservative VP, then I could almost stomach Romney, but still with quite a few reservations...

Against all odds... so turn to God. Romney supporters, did you all ever think God is fed up with liars and horrid pro-aborts? =Romney and BHO=

It isn’t over yet, keep praying, a miracle can happen, a
Christian could be elected President in November, the one who is obviously for life.

I am too wanting very much that the Supreme Court strikes down Obamacare because this would be even a more powerful victory than winning the Presidency, and that is of course in my humble opinion.

MAY THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL

finish what He has started and promised to finish within and with all those who seek His face and endeavor to put Him first in their lives . . .

May we be transformed daily ever more into the image of His Son, Christ Jesus.

May we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

let’s me see... progressive (0failure) or progressive-lite (romney). hmmm

funny, i don’t see a candidate that aligns with my governmental beliefs (ie: small govt, low taxes).

guess they don’t want my vote.

if that means the progressive wins another four... so be it.

then maybe we’ll have a chance to unseat the ‘leadership’ at gop headquarters. they’re just infiltrators and must go

The media Fox all of Goldman Sachs wanted this puppet, Romney. Romney has tried to buy the presidency for 6 years now. Romney is one of the most hated republican nominees that we have seen in years. People will overlook some of his flaws while others would never give up heir convictions to vote for him. It will be a hard sell for many voters-do they put their patriotism first or moral convictions. I will never vote for the man who set gay marriage into law and began the socialized health care that Teddy Kennedy wanted for most of his life. Every person has to do what they feel comfortable with. I just can’t see myself supporting the Obama lite. I think this could be the end of the GOP party as we know it since they have played the false game of picking who they want right before our eyes as their candidate. Newt and Rick should have united long ago.

Here’s Gingrich facing reality:

“I think you have to be realistic, given the size of his organization, given the number of primaries he’s won. He is far and away, the most likely Republican nominee,” Gingrich told “Fox News Sunday.” He said that if Romney gets the 1,144 delegates to the Republican National Convention required to officially clinch the nomination, “I’ll support him. I’ll do everything I can this fall to help him defeat Obama.”

Gingrich recognized that he owes “much more than we wanted to,” with an estimated $4.5 million in debt, and that his campaign is “operating on a shoestring.” He fired a third of his campaign staff just two weeks ago.

Newt said he did not think running for president would be this hard. He assumed the people of the country wanted real solutions. Reality was difficult to see that people wanted a character on TV to be their choice. The undertaker used car salesman Mitt and a guy with a big smile who looks friendly. I think the guy with the big smile will outsmart the plastic guy. Newt would had busted up the sweet deals. They all had to stop him and the Santos supporters help that as well. I will never forget that. Missed another opportunity for getting in changes. This was a bad plan by the soc cons/don't ever do this again to the country. Think bigger beyond being a good father.

Newt simply wasn’t willing to fight hard enough for long enough to defeat Romney. That much is clear.

Now we have to get behind the last man standing, Santorum.

“This was a bad plan by the soc cons/don’t ever do this again to the country.”

It’s not Santorum who’s giving up here. Remember that. It’s not Santorum who’s going on and saying that Romney will win and we need to get behind him.

Santorum is still out there and will fight all the way to the convention. So why are you blaming the social conservatives for selecting the best candidate to defeat Romney? You should be thankful that we stood behind Santorum so that you still have another option at this point other than supporting Romney.

Oh nonsense. You’ve given up already.

What does Santorum have to lose by fighting Romney all the way to the convention? People have been writing Santorum off since day one and he keeps fighting.

He has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
