Rep. Allen West: 80 Communist Party Members In U.S. House
CBS Miami ^ | April 11, 2012

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It wasn’t quite Joseph McCarthy waving around papers claiming to know of communists in the federal government, but according to the Palm Beach Post, Congressman Allen West claims he “has heard” there are communists in the House of Representatives.

According to the Post, West was talking to Jensen Beach voters this week when he said President Barack Obama was “scared” to have a discussion with him.

West then said that “he’s heard” up to 80 members of the U.S. House of Representatives are Communist Party members, but declined to give the names of any of the alleged members, according to the Post.

I hadn't re-visited the DSA website or the issue of the progressive caucus for some years. It looks like I should have been paying more attention. This is an excerpt from a Canada Free Press article from 2009. It's full of hot links, so you'll have to click on the article for a full reading.

Democratic Socialists of Congress: Meet the Members

Together, Communist Party and Socialist Party leaders established the Democratic Socialists of America, and they share a common ideology which is now the platform and mantra of today’s DNC - CPUSA Insert the word “Democrats” where “Communists” appears in this statement, and you have the central message of today’s Democrat leadership.

To gain full control of the Democrat Party, DSA leadership established two congressional legislative bodies, headed by DSA/CPUSA/SPUSA members. Today, these are the two congressional bodies in control of congress.

They are the Congressional Progressive Caucus established by Socialist Party member Bernie Sanders of Vermont, and the Congressional Black Caucus established by Communist Party member John Conyers of Michigan.

ALL members of these two congressional committees represent the Democratic Socialists of America, as both committees are the creation of, and operate under the control of DSAUSA.

If you want to know who is behind the full-court press to nationalize or socialize health care, the auto industry, banking and insurance, here they are…. Is YOUR congress member on these lists?

That was really weird. I just clicked on the page for the Congressional Black Caucus members and was on a page on the web site of Emanuel Cleaver with drawing of members of the Black Progressive Caucus, and the page disappeared and I got a message that the access was forbidden.

Something about 57 communists.

Is that one representative from each of the 57 states?

Allen West is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Are you telling me that he didn’t know that the Congressional Black Caucus was founded by the CPUSA?

He should talk about all the Communists in the White House, as well.

Patrick Murphy, whose criticism of West is mentioned in the article, is an ass.

Since he makes a big deal about having been in the army and being a “fighter,” does anyone know if he served in combat or if he was basically just a lawyer?

In any case, I support the real fighter West.

So for Rep. West to be so cautious is cowardly.

I'd like to be there when you explain, in person, how cowardly Rep. West is.

I thought it was Senator Stab-me-now. When they get her on camera, that’s all you can see.

I know a little bit about the DSA and the overlap with the Democrat Party, but your post filled in some details I wasn’t aware of. Thank You!

Happened to me too - then I scanned down the page and hit the "Member" button he has placed at the bottom right - voila!

"It's in there!!"

That just sounds nutty.

Ideologically - I agree - at least 80 members.

Actually joined the “Party” and signed on the dotted line?

Do you think they are that brazen yet?

Interesting breeding ground....

And very recent activities called at CPUSA...

March 15, 2012

The affect that these schools had in Texas was no less dramatic than in the other areas. At the beginning of July when the Little Red School Bus Tour made its final stop in Hurst, Texas, there were only about five people active in the YCL in Texas. Now there are nearly 40.

How disingenuous!

Rome wasn't built in a day. When is the last time you heard any national politician even hint at this?

LOL

I think this is foreplay; a trial balloon. West wants to know who is with him and who is against him; who his friends are and who his enemies are; who is a patriot and who is a spineless RINO.

Let's see how people respond. Let's see how many contact him with words of support. Let's see how the supposed conservative politicians respond to this when the left becomes outraged at such accusations -will they seek compromise or will they stand up and be counted?

Better yet, let's unleash the dogs of war and call them what they are -call Obama a commie!

What will RINO Romney say about this?

80 out of 435 is 18.39%. For comparison, the latest elections in Russia gave Communists 20.46% (92 seats out of 450.) Need only 10 more and the House will outperform the original communists.

Well, I was able to get back to a Cleaver page, after waiting a while, but when I click on the member list, I get a different page from the one that originally opened, with the black and white pictures of of the members. I’d like to see that page.

"80" is not an accurate number. Here, you can view the entire list right here on their website!

This is a brief excerpt from the DSA web site section, Who are we? It’s important because the Democrats are using this as a big organizing tool for the election. Watch for May Day Protests across the country, which will include unions, Black Panthers, immigrant groups like La Raza, OWS protesters and just plain Democrats. They are holding what they call, “Democracy Schools” all over the country, which are just anti-corporation organizing groups that are advocating an amendment to the constitution to keep corporations from investing in campaigns.

Q Private corporations seem to be a permanent fixture in the US, so why work towards socialism?
In the short term we can’t eliminate private corporations, but we can bring them under greater democratic control. The government could use regulations and tax incentives to encourage companies to act in the public interest and outlaw destructive activities such as exporting jobs to low-wage countries and polluting our environment. Public pressure can also have a critical role to play in the struggle to hold corporations accountable. Most of all, socialists look to unions make private business more accountable.

Only 80?? I thought it would be more!!!

Thats the elected ones. If you count the Czars, members of the press, hollywood and or GLBT,Soroses . Probably have sleepers in key positions within Intel/FBI/CIA/Pentagon/Military and probably the Boyscouts.
It may be a few percent of the population but they have a lot of power ($) and infuence ($).

P.J. O’Rourke said “Liberalism is just communism sold by the drink,” so Colonel West is probably pretty dead on with his assessment.

He might even be LOW in his estimated numbers.

How about the “news” rooms in America?
