Obama is closer to the Russians than the American
people ... whom he despises.

Let me know when we get to Ezekiel 38.

Oh, never mind. It will be obvious.

The Russians suck. Excuse my pedantic vocabulary but I had to work with some once, and they all sucked like no one else ever had.

“Obama is closer to the Russians than the American

Yup. That’s why he gave both his daughters Russian names........

...has developed an action plan to move Russian troops through neighboring Georgia to stage in Armenia,...

Yeah, the Georgians and Armenians are going to love that.

Obama has no intention of helping Israel and the Russians know it. That may embolden them to fully enter into an Israel-Iran conflict on the Iranian side with troops, if needed, and air and naval assets. Could get very nasty. FUBO.

I think BusinessInsider.com is smoking some strong stuff. Russia does not need to "go through Georgia" (how in the world?) and stage in Armenia. Russia has full access to Caspian Sea and can deliver as many troops and as much armor as it needs via water.

Not only that, Armenia has a pretty short border with Iran, and it's basically a road into nowhere. There is nothing there but mountains. No cities, no roads.

On the other end, if you take the Caspian route then you have access to hundreds of miles of coastal areas that lead directly into central areas of Iran. Tehran is about 60 miles from the coast and is connected to it with at least three freeways (two-lane ones, though, nothing to write home about.) But at least there are roads. If you are coming from Armenia you have to build your own roads as you go.

On top of all that, the Caspian route allows unobstructed air access into Iran, with Russian airports 300 miles away over water and with Turkmenistan's airports as close as you want (Turkmenistan has border with Iran.)

Of course generals make plans. They make plans for everything, what else can they do in peace time? But it's highly unlikely that Russia will need to send troops into Iran. Russia can far more profitably send diplomats everywhere except Iran.

Bye bye Georgia. You know dang well the world won’t do a thing about it. The world barely noticed last time the Russians invaded a few years back.

Actually they are just “poised” to move in and provide “social, economic and political stability” for say the next 50 or so years. All in return for just a wee bit of oil and warm water ports....

You misunderstood.

Georgia is the country they will invade. They tried it several years back too.

An Iran-Israel conflict will simply be a diversion. The world won’t give a crap that Russia will swallow up a friendly (to us) sovereign country because they all be watching the Israeli-Iranian conflict.

The Georgians will hate it more than the Armenians. But you’re right, both will hate it.

I can’t believe it hasn’t happened already. I mean, what was Bush II thinking? Why did he let Iran go on as long as it has? Obama a sorta get because he’s a leftist, but Dubya? I don’t get it. Amazed we didn’t strike in 2005.

It was difficult enough to make the case for invading Iraq, imagine getting support for an invasion of Iran even shortly after 11 September 2001.

Maybe Russia is using Iran as an excuse to take over Georgia when Iran is attacked.

The Russkies must have good intelligence from Tel Aviv, as Tel Aviv has from Moscow. Lotsa Rusian Jews in Israel, lotsa Jews in Mother Russia.

“if you take the Caspian route...”

The big problem is the Russians have all of ONE frigate in the Caspian Sea. You really can’t mount much of an amphibious operation with a single, 20-year old patrol ship.

In the event the events come down as you suggest, I firmly suspect our Military leaders will assume the authority to step up to aid Isreal, regardless of what nobama may order otherwise. I mean what the hell could he do other than pretend it was his idea.
