America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). Dick Cheney mainly did a courtesy appearance to talk about his health and thank everyone for their prayers. He sounds good.

I’ve still got my old bartender’s ear working: I can stand there pretending to listen to total BS all day and never miss a single item on the tab. Right down to the damn pretzels.
Mary has to learn a prime rule of talk broadcasting. Grab your audience right off the bat with some hot stuff. Get the momentum going quickly.
Don't start in with a droning Sunday morning homily on "virtue".....or with Conservative 101 stuff.
Most of Rush's audience is not unsophisticated or politically uneducated. We want some new news, new ideas, new approaches, new analysis......and a little inside D. C. dirt and gossip doesn't hurt, either. LOL.
Well, you get my drift.....I hope Mary reads this. However, she should know all this by now......heaven knows she's been in the communications biz long enough.

I got to hear Paul Ryan. Marsha Blackburn would have been my Congresscritter but for gerrymandering. I wish I could have heard Master Dick Cheney.
Ever since Hannity and Tony Snow went on to have their own syndicated shows, I think Rush has been somewhat careful about breeding any more new competition. He seems to pick mediocre guest hosts as a result (except for Steyn and Walter Williams, who seem to have no designs on a full-time career in radio)
I’ve listened to a lot of amateur speech makers over the years, some very painful ones. I’ve learned to pick out the “gems” from the clutter. There is something good to glean from each one.
All of Rush’s guest hosts has their own unique perspectives. They deserve some respect for just being asked to host Rush’s show.
