SOUP FOR THE TROOPS

WELCOME TO THE

(where our troops, allies and their families can refresh themselves)

Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our

Military, our Allies, and their families.

Thank you, Ma, for preparing the Canteen for today's activities

Sorry I'm late. Had a morning walk.
and now I need to get to work.

Bossman coming in later, too.
First, I'll get in my hellos while starting a project.

~ Today... Cloudy this morning...
Then partly sunny with a chance of showers
and thunderstorms this afternoon.
Highs in the mid 80s. South winds around 5 mph.
Chance of rain 30 percent.

~ Tonight... Mostly cloudy.
A chance of showers and thunderstorms...
Mainly in the evening. Lows in the lower 60s.
Southeast winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Making Z Zoup
A sprinkle of this...a pinch of that...

During the mating season, male porcupines
bristle their quills at each other
and chatter their teeth in rage before attacking.
All porcupines at this time become very vocal:
grunting, whining, chattering,
even barking and mewing at each other.

Comets speed up as they approach the Sun
– sometimes reaching speeds of over a million miles per hour.
Far away from the Sun, speeds drop,
perhaps down to as little as 700 miles per hour.

The 1,340-foot-long wall
that gave New York's Wall Street its name
was only 12 feet tall.
It was erected in 1653 by Dutch colonists
to protect against their enemies.

Songs with sexual or violent lyrics are not new.
Cole Porter's sensual "Love for Sale" was a hit in 1930,
but the tune was banned from radio for decades.
Blues singers of the 1920s and R&B bands of the 1950s
performed songs that were thick with the blatant double-entendre.
Additionally, traditional ballads of Scotland, Ireland,
and the American Appalachians
are filled with stories of murder.

I've got to make my rounds, quickly.
Have a meeting in about 30 minutes.
But, you stay right where you are.
Keep the troops entertained and the Canteen clean...
Cause...if you don't...I'll tell Ma!

Come in and sit for a while.

There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS

PLEASE REMEMBER THEM ....

DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

Good Thursday Morning, Beachy!

*HUGS*

I hope you're having a great day!

"Additionally, traditional ballads of Scotland, Ireland, and the American Appalachians are filled with stories of murder."

Not to mention Bobbie Burns - "The Merry Muses of Caledonia," a collection of his bawdy songs and poems.

Nos genuflectitur ad non princeps sed Princeps Pacem!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Good morning, CMN ((HUGS)) Day started off crappy - traffic. Now it's busy.

"Additionally, traditional ballads of Scotland, Ireland, and the American Appalachians are filled with stories of murder."

I'm sure there's no doubt about bawdy songs from there.

Bobbie Burns - "The Merry Muses of Caledonia,"

Hmm...sounds like personal knowledge. hehe

I have a copy. I'm not going to post even the titles here, let alone the songs - this is a family thread. :)

Howdy, EGC! It’s going well...really well for a day off. It’s still cool enough right now to be comfortable with the
doors open, which is how I like it!

Hope you and Bo have a great day today! :)
