Rasmussen: Three-Way Race: Romney 44%, Obama 39%, Ron Paul 13%
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 05/08/2012

Texas Congressman Ron Paul appears more interested in influencing the direction of the Republican Party than in running as an independent presidential candidate. But perhaps Democrats should be careful what they wish for: Even if Mitt Romney’s remaining GOP challenger should run as a third party candidate, new Rasmussen Reports surveying finds Romney the winner of a three-way race.

The latest national telephone survey shows that 25% of Likely U.S. Voters think Paul should run as a third party candidate. Sixty-one percent (61%) disagree, but 13% more are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The national survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on May 6-7, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

While he was and is an affiliate, and, yes, he was our first nominee in ‘08, it was never “his venture.” Not at all.

Where is Ron Paul on this Obama gay marriage?

I'm pretty sure he believes it's a state issue.

Which is a bit tricky, because of the full faith and credit clause. That's why DOMA was passed.

That said, Ron Paul is bad on a handful of issues, but great on the rest.

You see how an agenda is advanced?

1) First we must let SS couples adopt children ‘for the children’ ; to their credit China does NOT allow their kids to be adopted in the USA without normal married parents.

But now we must marry them for those same children and their friends. Many fools in the R party didn't see this coming

2) next, we must let gay’s openly join and serve the military because their ‘right to serve’

So now we must marry them because they served.

How many stupid Americans approved of of #1 and #2 while telling themselves they are opposed to SS marriage?

I'm pretty sure he believes it's a state issue.

That is my position as long as the states don't get to define it for the Federal government, ref DOMA. I have the same position on abortion laws.

Ron Paul has a habit of rarely mentioning the words ‘states’ when stating his positions. He always uses the word ‘government’, not ‘federal government’.

On this issue he sure comes across as wanting states to marry gays, that is why the kids like him.

I just did a search and he is defending DOMA so you are right.

This bluster about Ron Paul makes me come back to the same thought: He wants his son to have a future in the Republican Party.

OTOH, this poll shows Paul hurting Barry more than Mittens. Hmmm...

Here's a little levity for a Thursday morning:
