Santorum on Romney ‘endorsement’: ‘It was tough’

On the “Tonight Show” Jay Leno told Rick Santorum that his endorsement (that‘s what we’re calling it) of Mitt Romney seemed “kind of tepid,” given that it was sent out in an email at 11 p.m. Monday.

“I think we just needed some time,” Santorum said. “It was a rough and tumble campaign. I can‘t say that it would have been an easy thing the next day to turn around and say ’oh you know, lets just go forward.’ It was tough. So I wanted an opportunity to sort of think about it a little bit… Over the weekend I worked on it and we decided to put it out late at night so it would be sort of the first thing people would see in the morning.”

Santorum also presented Leno with one of those sexy sweater vests.

The paragraph from the Santorum email containing the endorsement........

Above all else, we both agree that President Obama must be
defeated. The task will not be easy. It will require all hands
on deck if our nominee is to be victorious. Governor Romney
will be that nominee and he has my endorsement and support to win this the most critical election of our lifetime.

No, Rick, it really isn’t.

If you wanted to beat him, then you really should have beat him.

Now it is time to defeat Hussein Obama, and there is exactly one person on this earth with any chance to do such.

Very simple, really easy.

It appears the best candidates the republican party had to offer were tepid at best. None seem to understand what this process is about or whats at stake. That seems not the case w/ the dems. They know exactly what they’re about and dont compromise a bit remaining true to their objectives. That said I think most voters are very very tired w/ the baloney going on the DC. Its time for regular folks to go there and clean house. It wont happen otherwise.

Apparently Saintorum continues to think that he’s important... he’s not.
