Forbes Profile Reveals Glenn Beck Is Highest-Paid Pundit This Year At $80 Million
Mediaite ^ | 5/16/12 | Frances Martel

While Glenn Beck has been keeping a comparatively low profile since his meteoric rise on Fox News in 2009, but that doesn’t mean he’s doing all that badly– in fact, he’s doing better than ever before in terms of income– and better than any other political celebrity. Forbes‘ Power 100 reveals today that, while in overall ranking including influence in the media, Beck is in 23rd place, he outshines Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump and Alec Baldwin in the income department.

RELATED: Glenn Beck, Forbes Cover Boy, Made $32 Million Last Year

Politico‘s Dylan Byers took a look at the rankings by number, and found Beck tied at #11 with Elton John for the most money made this year– an impressive amount, especially given that in 2010, at the peak of Beck’s fame, he made a comparatively paltry $32 million (and was on the cover of Forbes for it). Continuing to go down the list of most successful financially, one will find among those ranked below Beck Donald Trump, Lady Gaga, Roger Federer, and Beyoncé.

While his fame– or at least fame as considered in the political pundit world– has diminished somewhat, Forbes explains that his network, GBTV, really paid off, and that his publishing company is stronger than ever.

LOL

I really think he foresaw the direction the media needs to take if there is to be any freedom conservative talkers.

Wow! Beck found the crease and ran it right up the middle!

I can’t take Glenn, bless his heart, but profoundly respect his unmatched research. Of course, as a fine capitalist he tends to charge for his every utterance, tip and resource!

I am, however, very proud to see Glenn soar, and Oprah crator, in debt by millions!!!!!!!!!!!

His radio show is 75% unlistenable. I fail to see how he pulls in 80 million per year for himself. I don’t believe it. I have nothing against him but I can’t see those numbers even if books and tours and GBTV are involved.

The very best thing he could do at this point is to create a school for doing what he did. By this I mean a “knowledge base” of conservative journalism, with high quality standards, to bring back “credible journalism”.

One of the big reasons that the “dinosaur media” is dying, is of all things, because of college journalism schools that just crank out ignorant liberal automatons, absolutely opposed to any change in how journalism is done. Stagnant, amoral, devoid of standards or ethics, and with no knowledge outside their petty media universe not spoon fed to them with press releases.

If you ran a newspaper and only hired reporters with high school educations, but who could write without opinion and bias, you would have a successful newspaper.

So these are the people Beck should recruit to his school. High school graduates who could be molded into top notch reporters. The best of his class he should train as editors, to keep the reporters objective and so they don’t publish anything too horribly erroneous.

He had the highest ratings for his time slot on Fox and you don’t believe it?

He dumped that for GBTV and you think he want down on the money scale?

God Bless Glenn, he employ’s over a hundred people. In 1997 he was a talker here in Tampa. He has done incredible work. I hope one day he hits the top ten on Forbes list.

Say what you want...I don't consider it a bet to say that Beck has outed more communists, socialist, marxist, union thug, Soros, ACORN, etc. pieces of $hit than anyone on this site can name otherwise.

And few fail to admit that he has predicted damned near everything that is happening yesterday, today and probably tomorrow. Cities on fire across the world...economic callapses, the muzzie brotherhood and on and on.

Added to that he has taught me a lot about Constitutional history I was never taught back in the sixties and seventies...And regardless of the LDS tag he has, he is a man of God, not Allah.

And the total price I have had to pay for all of this is occasionally watching him cry or he and his radio cronies laughing a bit too childish for my likes.

Beck is not trying to take over this country...If you think he is in this for the money, you are RIGHT...But check how much he gives to charitable causes and how much personal revenue he invests in his endeavors. It's out there...I won't do it for anyone.

I wish I was contributing 1/100's of what Beck is doing for our country.

I was wondering. Did he ever finally get settled in Dallas?

My gentlest friends love to watch Glenn on computer! They pay to get his program and check his website regularly, but I can’t deal with the mach 10 hype, even when he is spot on, if you know what I mean. For me, he is an invitation for stress. LOL! :)

the only reason we saw tea party rallies in the media was because of beck and palin. Since both of them have gone quiet for the last few months, this led the media to think the tea party have died

The one-hour TV format was his best. Two hours is too much. I listen to his radio show sometimes, but he spends too much time with empty banter. Not enough info to fill up the three hours.

You can always tell when a conservative radio jock hasn't done his homework the night before. They stretch a 15-minute subject into an hour or more. Today, Rush sounded more like an infomercial than a conservative jock, pushing one product or another. He does that more and more. In fact all of them are working advertisements into their monologues more and more, like they're looking for the audience's limits for advertising vs. monologue. I'm a capitalist, but there are limits.

Yes, he has his studios and home in Dallas. You can go on theblaze.com and get the last expose’ he did on POTUS. No hype, just facts and it is done well. I do agree that I watch him less because of work and life’s stress. Can’t handle him at times, but he is like a horror movie, I watch with my hands in front of my face! The other good thing is he archives his work now, so you can go back and watch when you are up to it.
