I saw the Avengers Movie with some family on Mother's Day.
I saw "Obama" as the evil one wanting to end freedom for the general population as freedom is bad. The Evil One wanted the Good Guys (Captain America, Hulk, Thor etc) to spend their time fighting each other.
When Captain America was looking for his "outfit" he went to a museum and found the Stars and Stripes on display. He got it and said - "This is not as popular as it once was!"
When the Good Guys joined to fight evil - they could not be stopped.
At the end when the evil one was exiled to a space platform - he said - "We can never take their freedom when they join together to resist".
The only message I saw was To start saving your money so you can afford to take your family to the sequel.
Well, speaking of The True God isn’t very liberal (unless they’re speaking of Obama). Thanks for reminding me of that line...I remember that and was impressed when Capt. America said it...
I guess the evil one could always hope that someone would work against that unity.
Yes, I’d be SHOCKED if that was the message. My guess, and I haven’t seen it, is that it was set up to portray evil 1%’ers, Conservatives/Repubs.... thinly veiled as the bad guys.
You could knock me over with a feather if a big $$$ Hollywierd production was anything but a pro left propaganda spew.
Yah, exactly what I said, but in a different way: the action was often mindless/pointless. Still, a good film.
Yea! I take back my other pessimistic post. Looks like I might actually go see this if it’s not a cynical, leftist, anti American pile of crap.
I’ve always loved the Hulk and have been disapointed in the silly attempts to portray him.
Lou F. on the TV show was the best so far!
I want to see a movie where NYC, LA and DC are destroyed in the first scene.
Your boy Downey just showed at the Obama mega-fundraiser http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1684924/president-obama-robert-downey-jr-fundraiser.jhtml
And PharmB... I remember Putney Swope and the wacked out movies his father made. Also Brother from Another Planet not that I ever saw either one
Funny. If only they made Ron Paul the Hulk. Rampaging, in the background. Yelling.
In the words of Faramir, "I think Frodo we finally understand each other"
Now that’s funny!
If you want to make a boatload of money, make a Movie called The Avengers.
Next question.
It was the only image I could find at the time. Eventually I’ll redo it to add Paul.
I learned that there is nothing like going to a midnight showing. Nothing. Best audience Ever!
Oh and why I love Robert Downey Jr. He came out as a conservative right before the American premier which he dedicated to the families of the First Responders on 9/11.
Just don't cast Uma Thurman as Emma Peel.
“we are so incredibly bereft of original ideas that we are recycling all of the old ones”.
It could be popular culture portraying our decline and looking back at the good days and directly at the decadent current leadership. I also wonder how many kids watch “Hunger Games” and see Washington as “The Capitol”.
The scence with the D senator was priceless, I shouted out, figures, he is a democrat and people all around me were laughing.
