Former football star O.J. Simpson's new lawyer has filed court documents seeking to free his client from a Nevada prison charging that Simpson's former lawyers did not give him adequate representation at trial, The Associated Press is reporting.
AP reports that documents filed Tuesday in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas fault the trial performance of Miami attorney Yale Galanter and Gabriel Grasso of Las Vegas.
Simpson, who had been living in South Florida's Kendall suburb, was convicted in 2008 on various charges, including kidnapping and armed robbery, in connection with an incident at a Las Vegas hotel room involving memorabilia sellers and was subsequently sentenced to up to 33 years in prison.
Inadequate or ineffective representation is a standard reason for appeal. Usually, it doesn’t go far.
Curious how he has the money for a new lawyer, unless this is some legal aid or poverty law attorney.
Will we see more of this exciting police drama again?
