Federal Priorities: A new report shows we have spent $70 billion on climate change since 2008 while our strapped military is ordered to become energy-efficient. Imagine weapons that don't harm the environment.
Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., ranking member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, and a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, took to the Senate floor Thursday to decry the green agenda being imposed on the military by the Obama administration at the same time the defense budget is being sacrificed on the altar of runaway deficit spending.

Best defense is a good offense. Thanks raptor22.
I think we owe the Senator a thank you to his email.
Was he talking to himself in an empty chamber when he said it?
That always seems so bazaar. I love watching the Brit’s parliament in session.
Actually, widespread use of solar energy would be a big step forward for national defense. Presently our centralized power plants present obvious targets. The limited capacity of solar power might toughen us up a bit too.
US Government *only* spent $70 billion on climate since 2008
Who needs a military? EVERYBODY is going to be too busy peacefuly fighting AGW/CCC arm in arm, while singing Kumbaya, to ever have a war. /sarc
Global Warming on Free Republic
Mrs BN & I went to Vietnam in 2004. One of the photos I took was of all the duck ponds. Recycled 500lb bomb craters!

Any solar array of reasonable capacity occupies a large area. They are also very “soft” targets; a bag of rock thrown at them would cause great damage.
As one who is currently living “off the grid” with the limitations of solar panels, battery banks & inverters (gecko crawled in and fried a $2000 inverter last month), I say that you can keep your “limited capacity of solar power might toughen us up a bit too.” Give me lightng bright enough to read by, A/C when it’s 95 & 90% humidity, and wouldn’t it be luverly to have a microwave!
