'There wouldn’t be a Tea Party if the Republican Party did its job'

(video)When nearly 100 of Florida’s most involved tea party activists came together Saturday to learn from the experts how to be citizen journalists, the conversation morphed from how to cover the news to how to deal with Republicans.

“There wouldn’t be a tea party if the Republican Party did its job,” moderator and Florida State Director of Americans For Prosperity, Slade O’Brien said to a crowd in obvious agreement.

“Fighting for what’s right is the American way.” Your quote.

The restoration of the Republic and the GOP are at odds with each other. That puts me at odds with any Party that runs contrary to the Constitution, and Thee Republic for which it stands!

Go wave your Rino Pom-Poms elsewhere.

Peace

One can always wish for more but wishing is not a strategy.

That depends, here in obamaland, beggars ride.

But the way I grew up, it was more along the lines of: ""Wish in one hand...etc.", now get your butt to work."

Stupid and obnoxious are no way to go through life, son.

Are Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, Ron Johnson, Mike Lee, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, and Bobby Jindal all "waving RINO pom-poms"?

It might be time for you to grow up a little bit and realize that you are not the only person on earth who has a plan for restoring our Republic.

Now THAT..... is a well worded argument. Sometimes words get jumbled up in translation, and it would appear this is the case with you.

You are correct, in that there are a few (very few)decent conservative/small l libertarians out there that have the wherewithall to do what needs to be done.

Unfortunately, the bigwigs, and the dudes that hold the reins of power, are thwarting them at every turn.

At this point in time, conservatives/small l libertarians are to the pub party what the blacks are to the dem party.

we are to shut up and vote for whoever and whatever they put up on the ballot, and then go home after the election and take whatever they throw at us.

I am very proud of those out there that are actively primarying the socialist pubs, and damn near 100% of the old guard pubs need to be primaried out of existence.

Until that happens, the pub party is still the party of slow growth socialism.

If you want to start a rallying cry, try “Primary ‘em!”

Of course they are there, and of course all true conservatives wish there were more of them. The way to get more is to support the decent conservatives we've already got in office, try to convert the more malleable RINO officeholders, and primary the intransigent RINOs. Giving up on the GOP or just mindlessly slanging it while ignoring the advances we've made over the last few years is counterproductive and just plain immoral.

Unfortunately, the bigwigs, and the dudes that hold the reins of power, are thwarting them at every turn.

Well, they're trying to, as one would expect. But as that great American patriot Al Sharpton says, "Resist we much!"

At this point in time, conservatives/small l libertarians are to the pub party what the blacks are to the dem party.

Yes and no. Similar in being taken for granted. But different because conservatism is an ideology that will promote the betterment of all. There is no hard limit to the number of people we can recruit to our cause.

Blacks give their support to the 'Rats in return for the promise of free stuff handed out to blacks at the expense of others. The 'Rat approach is cynical and divisive and un-American. Our approach is good and true and profoundly American. If you don't believe in the ultimate strength of good versus evil then you have no business being in grassroots conservative politics.

Thank you for your support.

It is sad that optimism and pragmatism have become but a faction here on FR but I’m not giving up!

Your words of encouragement help a lot.

Thanks again.

Stupidly and arrogantly calling me a RINO gets your idiocy exposed pro-style.

Like it or not, them’s the rules, bucko.

Sobbing about your smack-down afterwards merely earns you a second taunting.

Feh!

“If you want to start a rallying cry, try “Primary ‘em!”

That was exactly the point of rogue yam’s original post. The only difference between you two is that you want to assualt the bastions of both parties, hoping for some sort of a overnight victory.

rogue yam wants to bring the leadership of the Republican to bay, and replace them with reliably big C conservatives.

Of the two, I’d say that rogue yam’s plan is the best, with a much higher chance of success, both in the long and the short term. As I look around the news I can see that others are now in the process of implementing that strategy.

There’s a whole lot of TEA party Republicans winning primaries right now. Lugar is gone, and it looks like Hatch may follow...there’s good prospects for numerious House seats......enough to kick the RINOs out of leadership positions?.....probably not, but as the years go by, little by little, TEA Party Republicans will take control of the Party and play a major part on our nations political stage....We’ll need em all, and more, especially if either Obama or Romney wins this November. (100% chance of that)

Brick by brick, my fellow citizens, Brick by brick.

I have not mindlessly “slanged” anything. On the contrary, I have stated irrefutable fact... that is that the pubs in their current state are actively promoting and advancing socialism.

GWB did more to advance socialism than clintoon did. Now, clintoon was held back by a conservative congress (who’s leader was not conservative enough to get conservative votes for this years presidental ballot)

Instead we get the HARDCORE socialist romney.

Just becasue there are a few out there fighting the good fight does not change the direction the party has been taking us.

Like I said, until the bigwigs are gone, there will be no change in direction.

I will not support socialism, regardless of party affiliation.

And right now, at this exact moment in time, the pub party is the party of slow socialism.

Now, if you wish to prove me wrong, please do it with facts.
I really want to change my mind about the pub party, but alas, there is little to nothing out there to change my mind.

Wow! Thanks for the smack down as you say. I needed that. I will now go with the Winning strategy of voting for Romney, and Republicans. This strategy has worked so well for us in the past. Yea, that's the ticket. You take care now.

I consider your reply #7 to be a mindless slanging.

Just look at who praised it and how.

FR has become a cesspool of defeatism and negativism over the last few weeks (or more).

Look at all of the infighting. Look at the opuses and zots. Look at the snail’s-pace fundraising.

Optimism and pragmatism are the essential characteristics of conservative politics. Limbaugh, Buckley, Reagan, and Thatcher are/were all defined by these traits.

Said traits are wholly absent from your reply #7.

If you can’t see that the tea party movement is something new then what can I say?

There is none so blind, etc.

I guess I have been too nice about this, so here goes the hard line..

I did not leave the republican party, it left me.....

Because of psuedo so called conservative, the ones that champion and applaude the taking of our liberties ( look at the patriot act, conservatives everywhere were dancing in the streets over this vile anti-constitutional law )..

I did not leave conservatism, it left me..

The only place left where those that believe in the constitution exist is the libertarian party.

I would rather get rid of the nut jobs over there, and start fresh without the socialists interfering and misleading me.

If the repulican party wants me back, then they have to prove it to me, not the other way around.

I will not actively support those that stand against everything I stand for in the hope that they will change. If our forefathers thought that way we would still be a british colony.

In the days leading up to the revolution, 30% were for staying with the crown, 40% did not give a damn either way, and 30% were for freedom from tyranny. Of that 30%, not even half actively participated in the revolution.

What I am telling you is that 15% of the population of the colonies fought for and gave us our country.

The time has come.

I am the 15%....

WTH? Dude, I am the Tea Party! The Tea Party is made up of factions of both political parties, Independents, and Conservatives all sick, and tired of the Two Party system that has been gaming us all for to long. The Tea Party is the future, the GOP, and the Democrat Parties will hopefully end up in the Dustbin of history. Where they so well deservedly belong.

Tea Party On!
