(video)When nearly 100 of Floridas most involved tea party activists came together Saturday to learn from the experts how to be citizen journalists, the conversation morphed from how to cover the news to how to deal with Republicans.
There wouldnt be a tea party if the Republican Party did its job, moderator and Florida State Director of Americans For Prosperity, Slade OBrien said to a crowd in obvious agreement.

would be the same here in pittsburgh, no doubt, but for the ridiculous ‘pappy and grandpappy voted dhimmicrat so i must too’ mentality......
‘pubs cant even get their foot in the door.....
What most people fail to realize is that the republican party is doing it’s job... it’s job is the promotion and implementation of socialism, slowly and methodically. They are doing a good job at this.
The dems job is to fast track the implementation of socialism.
Once you understand and accept this premise, then everything becomes clear.
Just say no.
Now there's a great tagline.
Don’t be arrogant. The tea party movement exists because people realize that both parties have contributed to the mess we’re in, however unequally.
It would be very poor tactics to concede both major parties to collectivism and corruption, and then to try to build from scratch a third party based on free enterprise to defeat them both.
Especially since the GOP claims to be the party of our conservative values and has numerous young up-and-coming conservatives within its ranks.
It makes much more sense to continue the tea party movement of nominating fiscally conservative reformers in GOP primaries and getting GOP nominees elected in November.
Despair and defeatism won’t work and are un-American.
Fighting for what’s right is the American way.
Still, given Pauls constitutional views and his strong conservatism on issues of debt and deficit, its unclear just how much establishment support he could garner if he runs for president in the future. And while his relationship with McConnell is good, he has yet to patch things up with the rest of the Kentucky GOP establishment.
Longtime Kentucky Democratic consultant Jim Cauley wondered how Paul might ingratiate himself with the national GOP establishment enough to win the nomination.
He still bitch-slaps the Republican establishment here in Kentucky all the time! he said. And Im like, if you dont know how to do it here, how are you going to learn to do it on a national scale?

So, what your case in point means is that you have to go along to get along.... you mean go along with the slow train to socialism, just in case you might get a shot at slowing down even more, without an option to stop and reverse it?
Socialism is the enemy of the constitution and of the republic. Period.
The republican party actively promotes socialism.
Big old gwb and his prescription drug benefit...
His NCLB written by a flaming lib...
So called patriot act...
Failure to even stand ground the last 2 years in the house..
The damn list goes on and on..
and, as a former military person, that loves this country and lives by the constitution that governs it, you want me to openly support this kind of crap?
No. Not now. Not ever. I will never lend support to those that desire to rip apart the document that this country was founded on.
If you wish to openly support the enemies of the republic, you are free to do so.
But, don’t you dare to go around and chastise those who see the pubs for what they are and what they represent.
They have proven what they represent in actions, or lack of action... what they say means nothing
Great quote! Go to any GOP website, and the Republican philosophy will be stated as limited government, free enterprise, personal responsibility, etc. Sometimes it takes an outside group to poke them in the ribs and remind them of the fact. Thanks for posting, TOK!

Slap around the establishment and go directly to the people. I think any one of Romney's opponents could have beaten him. He was just lucky enough to have them split the vote while the establishment destroyed them one at a time like a bad kung-fu movie where the "hero" fights a dozen people one at a time. Similarly, Rand Paul would likely win a Republican primary later if the vote isn't split multiple ways again.
Maybe the Tea Party needs a pre-primary to decide who will be the one to go against the establishment candidate so the vote can't be split in the real primary.
Once a Republican candidate wins, he starts to prefer kool-Aid over Tea.
“If you wish to openly support the enemies of the republic, you are free to do so.”
Right On!! Well Stated.
The gopE will do ok, because basically, there's nothing else on.
These cheap tvs they convinced us to buy only get two channels and viewers are tired of the obama channel.
Seriously, that network jumped the shark a very long time ago.
On the other hand, if the TEA party starts writing new scripts for the gopE network, we could end up with the hit of the season!
No, my case in point is that Rand Paul is a young up-and-coming tea party conservative who is moving and shaking within the GOP and slapping the RINOs across the chops in the process.
Thus he is an example of how we can and should take the GOP back for conservatism rather than abandon it for third party oblivion.
I think it was the case this year that all of our candidates were deeply flawed. Gingrich, Cain, Santorum, Perry, Bachmann, all of them. They each fall well short in important ways and I think Romney could have beaten any one of them head-to-head.
We need better candidates.
So why don't you just give up and quit already and leave conservative politics to those of us who have a plan for success?
You’ve got a great plan!
There have been a number of tea party victories already this primary season.
One can always wish for more but wishing is not a strategy.
You’ve got a great plan!
A few here are beginning to catch on, but not nearly enough.
I notice that abortion approval is at an all time low, I guess all those preppies now realize that abortion is also for the older among us and they are beginning to get there.
We act like Obama has been successful in covering up his origin and past, as if all the resources of our government and our enemies can not find any trace of this man. You would have to believe that all those alphabet agencies are complete idiots with no useful resources, or they know exactly who he is, and are hiding it from us, for reasons that only they know
Boehner blocked Bachmann's attempt to defund Ocare and there has been hundred of billions spent to institute that nightmare, why?
A few here believe that the Supreme Court will overturn this travesty, but I really doubt that. They surely have made their decision long ago and yet they have let this administration run amok spending and regulating us into a gordian knot from which we can not extricate ourselves. How could the Court explain their complete disdain for the taxpayer that has stood by helplessly as money was flushed that they can never recover?
