Today, a series of protests around the nation for religious freedom will take place, in part to support the 43 Catholic institutions and dioceses that have filed suit against the HHS contraception mandate as an unconstitutional incursion on the free expression of religion. CNS News went to the most important and well-informed Catholic in American politics to get her reaction to the lawsuit, and to find out whether she supports it:
Well, I dont think thats the entire Catholic Church, Pelosi responded. Those people have a right to sue, but I dont think theyre speaking ex cathedra for the Catholic Church. And there are people in the Catholic Church, including some of the bishops, who have suggested that some of this may be premature, Pelosi said.

Pelosi gets another F on Catholic theology. As the article pointed out only the Pope can issue a statement regarding dogma "ex cathedra" and the last one was in 1950 concerning the dogma of the assumption of Mary. Just a reminder Pelosi went to a Catholic University, Trinity U., in Washington, DC right near Catholic U. What did Jesus say about judging a tree from its fruits???

Nancy, just because you have your name in some church record doesn’t make you an honest practicing Christian Catholic. You have been away from the church’s teaching for so long, you no longer know what the church stands for.

Pelosi is speaking ex-vagina on behalf of the Democratic party.

Nancy can spin the tenets of her faith until she’s blue in the faith, but when she will have to account for her stance on same to the Lord and Creator at judgment, she’ll be cast down to hell fast and furious by God!?

The Catholic Church not excommunicating Pelosi is like 0bama not forcing Holder to resign.. It’s BAD for business!

Perhaps Nancy can tell us which official Catholic teaching endorses abortifacients, or paying for them for others?

Obviously Bug eyes either has no Advisers, or Advisers that won't say no. She can't open her mouth without saying something horrendously stupid.

I think Pelosi is saying that since is a Catholic (so she says) she ‘Speaks’ for the Church, not the Bishops.

The problem is, as long as the Vatican fails to rebut Pelosi publicly, many people believe she is speaking for them.

She’s clearly coo-coo bananas. So, for that reason, I want her to continue lecturing the bishops as well as the faithful on the doctrines and, in deed, the very nature of the Church. Her madness only becomes more apparent.

It would be nice if the Pope did address this issue ex cathedra. As for excommunication, I doubt it would have any more effect upon Pelosi than would a hysterectomy.
