DALLAS -
Stories of coyotes or bob cats wondering into North Texas neighborhoods are not unusual, especially near wooded areas. But some residents right in the middle of Dallas have reported seeing a wolf recently.
In fact, Dallas Animal Services said it captured the animal on Thursday. He looks every bit like a wolf and can be just as dangerous, but he is actually a hybrid part wolf and part dog.
"I saw a couple of police officers while I was jogging. Stopped and asked me if I'd seen it. I told them where I'd seen it," said Wink Watkins, who lives in the neighborhood along Elsby Avenue. "It didn't really strike me as being aggressive toward me but there are so many young children in the neighborhood and a lot of people walk their dogs so it made people nervous."

Well, not a Wolf per se, but hybrid wolf-dog is not quite as eye-catching.
Video also at link
I don’t know, put another 20 lbs on him and
he would look pretty good.
Yup....looks like a hybird mix. Someone might have had it as a pet & let it go.
its a dog... not a wolf...
Poor critter. I bet that’s somebody’s pet that was abandoned or lost. It looks like a “timber shepherd” maybe?
Need to check its ear for an RFID.
Yer all wrong! It’s Chupacabra.
A cross of a wolf and a dog would not be a ‘hybrid’ in the classical sense. They would produce totally viable and reproductive offspring..........
A dog is a wolf is a dog is a wolf is a dog.........
Beautiful animal.
I thought he was beautiful, too, and if you watched the video you saw he’s quite docile by nature; just don’t make him angry. You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry. I know somebody like that.
I agree. It’s a dog, not a wolf. It looks like a cross between our akita and a collie, maybe. Our akita has almost the exact same coloring.
Someone will put 30lbs on her and she will charm everybody senseless with her beauty and ladylike manners while she’s assessing all their pets.
Yes, been exactly there. And this one is 7/8 wolf.

About what were they wondering?
This ‘wolf’ is but one of a very few in existence.
Shouldn’t it be protected under the Edangered Species Act?
I can't proof it, but there are rumors of squirrels and opossums sighted in these very same thickets. Will try to run this down myself.
Bring back compound 1980!
Come again.
Modern journalistic skills on display once again.
