Quite obvious that the commie union teachers have done their job in dumbing down education.

Under current commie deconstruction of our education system question #4 under;

UNITED STATES HISTORY
AND CIVICS
(a) State briefly the causes of the War of 1812. (b) Name two engagements. (c) Two prominent American Commanders.

has been changed to:

In which year was the War of 1812. +/- 5 years.

The commie left had to destroy the understanding of the founding of this country so as to allow our youth to be brainwashed with failed leftist ideas.

This is the only way you can explain our POS president’s complete lack of knowledge of our Constitution. He is not fit to look at a copy of it let along speak on the subject.

My Dad too. 8th grade was his last. He was a superstar.

He could fix anything mechanical. Paint like Von Goh, play the piano like Liberace and cook like Julia Child. Gosh, he was my hero.

Then he went to war.

Oh yeah, he could also draw cartoons (I used to sit on his lap while he teached me the art of drawing). AndyCapp was our favorite.....God Bless you Dad.

Epilogue: My Dad had morals and principles, he gave me life, and he gave his all for America.

I will point this out...the amount of knowledge that Thomas Jefferson had by age eighteen....amounted to almost a master’s degree. Somewhere between 1776 and the 1960s....we lost a fair amount of knowledge.

Curriculum such as this or a classic education is antithetical to today’s religion of ‘equality’ and multiculturalism. We can strive and have an educated populous or we can have equality & multiculturalism but not both.

I blame a good chunk of it on new jobs and entertainment that don't require the participants to think AT ALL. In the old days, people would have to exercise the mind nearly constantly. Even when having fun.

Today, there are so many people who barely think at all. It hurts if they even try to. They grow up in schools where 90%+ of your grade depends on mindless memorization for multiple choice tests. Then they do repetitive tasks for 8+ hours a day at assembly-line factories and offices (if they even have a job at all). They go out to eat or buy pre-prepared food, not even having to know what goes into it. They sit in front of the TV most nights watching mindless junk for cheap laughs and base sexuality. If they do go out for a “party”, it's usually just mindless intoxication and maybe sex with no meaningful conversation. Their children learn nothing and their grandchildren learn even less.

It will keep declining until we lose the ability to support such a large “thoughtless” society. We are seeing the beginning of this now...

Give a short sketch of the life and work of one of the following great men: Thomas Jefferson, Henry Clay, William McKinley.

2012 answer to question...

Thomas Jefferson is not a GREAT man because he owned SLAVES and SLAVERY is Bad. And never heard of the other two peeps.../s

(a) State the qualifications of a United States Senator. (b) Name the Senators from the State of Washington.

2012 answer: In Washington... you need to be a LIBERAL to get votes from Seattle...the two MORONS we have is Can'tDoAnything and Patty Murray the nut..

I doubt they could then either. Since few students went beyond the eighth grade in those days, I sincerely doubt many cared whether they passed the test or not. I doubt adults from those days could pass those tests as well. Sure, education has been getting dumbed down through the decades, but the idea that grade school kids from that time could do well on those questions sounds pretty doubtful to me. Where are the records of how the kids did on the tests?

The teachers, of course, had to teach this sort of stuff. Truth to tell, very bright fourth graders might be able to master it (as long as no algebra involved).

7. Explain why it is good citizenship to demand government benefits
by throwing a tantrum and acting like a unsatisfied despotic sniveling brat
as compared to selfless service, courage, duty and sacrifice to the nation.

8. Explain why citizens must prove they have insurance under Obamacare,
but it is discriminatory for one to prove they are a citizen of the U.S.

9. Henry Hazlitt criticized Comrade Karl Marx by sayig "The whole gospel
of Karl Marx can be summed up in a single sentence: Hate the man who is
better off than you are. Never under any circumstances admit that his
success may be due to his own efforts, to the productive contribution he has
made to the whole community. Always attribute his success to the
exploitation, the cheating, the more or less open robbery of others. Never
under any circumstances admit that your own failure may be owing to your
own weakness, or that the failure of anyone else may be due to his own
defects - his laziness, incompetence, improvidence, or stupidity."

Explain why Marx’s gospel is the best course for you to take. .

I think that the math on this test would have been easier for a bright fourth grader than the language.

Some of those language concepts are difficult for anyone. I don’t know any fourth graders who would grasp the idea that an adjective can sometimes be a noun in that sentence that had to be diagramed.

The plural of “me” is doubtless supposed to be “us.” From a more strictly philosophical point of view it would be “me’s.” (e.g.: There are two me’s, the evil me and the good me.)

They don’t even teach English grammar by declension any more. They didn’t even do that when I was in school. I clearly remember my Latin teacher complaining about having to teach us English before she could teach us Latin.

That’s what they meant by the plural of me, objective case plural of I.
