Ok, I guess I dont really get this. Was this really on screen for THAT long for people to really care THIS much?
they may fear some of us are becoming activists and might finally cancel HBO or those related. “Follow the money trail”?
No, their were multiple heads on spikes, very gory. There was no way one could tell it was him. The producers pointed it out in an interview.
Since it’s the principle of the matter (for me), I don’t care how long it was on screen. I hope this creates a major annoyance for HBO. (I don’t care how far down the totem pole the problem originated.)
I am SICK of the blatant hypocrisy from the liberals.
Yes,it IS a big deal.
Just as the “sniper crosshairs” picture of Bush a few years ago.
only HBO is actually doing something to correct the disgusting situation for which I applaud them.
A competent PR person would have said the following:
“All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.”
Instead, HBO is saying “you got us, we hate Bush.”
There has to be much more to the story than they’re letting on. Someone has to have the feeling that this isn’t going to go away unless they go to extremes in making good and apologizing. Can’t someone just check into rehab?
My Cable Co had an HBO preview last weekend. I marathoned S1 and S2 of Thrones.
I didn’t even notice the GWB head. I recall several on spikes, but none, other than the main character who got beheaded, was showing that close or distinctive.

Since HBO is going to this extensive of an effort, apparently the inclusion was intended to be GWB’s head.
Thus, the inclusion was not done in a vacuum. It had to be designed, created, propped, and videoed. That would indicate that several people would need to have been involved.
==
Much ado about over-sensitivity by some immature people involved in the development and production of the scene.
No, I watched it. Never would have guessed it was a GWB head fake. There were a bunch of heads. This is really stupid. To yank the sake of that episode is a bit over the top.
No,it wasn't. I have both seasons on DVD. I watched the episode (Sansa is forced to look at her Father and nanny's heads on spikes by King Joffrey)You wouldn't have seen at all even knowing it's there. Only by slowing it down frame by frame will you get a glimpse, maybe.
People need to get a life and get over it. This is stupid. The show is one of the very best HBO has ever done (Second only to Rome)
No, nobody even noticed until somebody paid attention to the commentary track. This whole thing is a stink over nothing.
Oh, yes. This is far, far worse than anything that Obama has done.
There aren't enough legitimate things to be outraged about these days, you see, for the TV-addict crowd.

Instead, they offer absurd explanations that, in my opinion, only prove what sniveling weasals (sic) they really are: |

06/14/2012 5:19:36 PM PDT · by tobyhill · 10 replies ABC 30 KFSN ^ | 6/14/2012 | staffHBO and producers of "Game of Thrones" apologized Thursday for a scene that depicted former President George W. Bush's severed head on a spike. The scene first aired last year and was repeated on a DVD release in March. But in a particularly bad piece of timing for HBO, stories about it spread online this week, when the network premiered a documentary on Bush's father, former President George H.W. Bush. Bush's head was one of several on spikes in a scene where King Joffrey reveals to his fiancé the severed head of her father, who he had judged disloyal. The... |
