“by doing so turn conservatives against the republican candidates.”

That would imply the opposition was not a pre-existing condition.

You are a moron.

Your car is either going to wind up with no transmission or no wheels shortly after the next election, and you waste your time arguing that we need to save the wheels, because without wheels the car is useless.

I am going to continue to address Romney policies I see as destructive to our nation. I will also continue to trash Obama for his insanity.

Now you can continue to throw a hissy-fits every time someone trashes Romney policy, or accept that his policies are as detrimental to our nation as they are.

I’m going to blister him with truth. Brace yourself!

1) Obama’s decree was not limited to kids. Any illegal alien under 30 was included.

2) Since most illegals don’t possess an ID, anyone under 45 could pass for under 30.

3) No one is going to leave a child here while deporting their parent(s).

Marco RUBE-E-O: this is a get out of jail free card for nearly everyone who is here illegally. You are an idiot.

Someone needs to point out that kids ALWAYS suffer from the bad decisions of their parents.

Most criminals’ kids don’t have anything when Dad/Mom get taken away to jail. When an embezzler is caught, all of sudden all the assets are gone and the rest of the family moves from the Hamptons to a tenement in the Bronx.

I was about to post this exact same statement! When a bank robber is caught, do the children get to keep the money? When an embezzler is caught, do the children get to stay living in the house and driving the expensive cars that were ill-gotten gain? The answer to all of these questions is a simple and emphatic - NO!

Our laws should not be written based on the heart-strings, but on the foundation of what is RIGHT! The right thing to do is to send these kids back to their ancestors, back so that they can live and enjoy their origins!

Hell, you would think that the liberals would be screaming FOR this opportunity to be bi-lingual and to get in touch with their home-land ancestry! Lord knows they preach that crap to those born of America - LEGALLY!

The whole reason the Dems/Libs want this is for VOTES! Those illegally coming from poor nations are more likely to continue to vote for the US Government to supplement/provide for them - i.e., vote Democrat!

Those who suffer will be the children, but that is NOT Americas fault, that is not the fault of some "bad laws" - as the Dems and RINOs like to pretend! That suffering is the direct, illegal actions of their parents and unfortunately for them, they are caught in the melee and storm which follows.

You need to accept reality.

Looks like you are the one who needs to accept "reality." Reality is Romney IS going to be the Republican candidate...

Hummm, please point out where I said he wasn't going to be might Kong.  Oh that's right, I didn't.

...and he would be, in every way, better for America than a second term Obama would be.

In every way?  Well, when it comes to illegal immigrants, it's becoming clear that he wouldn't be better.  Did he promise to undo this action by Obama yet?  Oh, that's right.  NO!

Those who throw temper tantrums, such as yours, are generally those who are farthest from reality.

Well, folks can look at this post of yours and judge for themselves who is closer to reality.

RE :"Rubio’s plan would *not* provide a path to citizenship (nor a vote, of course),

But when asked at a briefing Thursday with English-language reporters if his plan would create a pathway to citizenship, Rubio insisted it wouldn't.
“I think the key difference is it doesn't create a special pathway for citizenship and thereby leads to illegal chain migration,” he said of the distinctions between his plan and the Democratic DREAM Act. “What it does it only puts them in the same position as any other holder of a non-immigrant visa, which is the opportunity to avail themselves of the existing legal immigration system whatever that system is at that time when they access it.”
Democratic leadership aides said Friday that Rubio seemed to be playing up the citizenship piece with Spanish-language press and downplaying it with English-language media.
But Rubio’s office on Friday strongly denied that was the case.
Alex Conant, a Rubio spokesman, said Friday that “there is nothing in his proposal that would prevent these kids from eventually becoming citizens. But unlike the current DREAM Act, it does not create special pathway to citizenship. If these kids want to become citizens, they would have to go through the same process as anyone else and wait in line.”
Under current law, children of illegal immigrants would have to go back to their country of origin before being awarded the appropriate visas through the U.S. immigration system. Rubio’s plan would allow certain children brought to the country illegally who have since completed high school or military service and don't have a criminal record to stay in the United States while accessing the existing immigration system, eventually giving them a chance to become naturalized citizens.
Anti-immigration activists call this a two-step process to “amnesty.” But Rubio says his proposal won't affect future entrants to the country, just the children who are here now, made the United States their home and now show promise.”

"Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings

...it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the numbers of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth, to know the worst, and to provide for it."

Thanks EternalVigilance. It is so sad to watch folks I generally respect roll over on important issues.

Illegal immigration is poised to turn this nation on it’s head. In reaction, we as Republicans are asked to remain muted to advance our cause.

Un fricken believable...

I understand what Rubio said and I “feel” some of it myself.

However, people of all ages who are here illegally have their own country. It is not inhumane to return them to it. It’s not their “fault” but it’s also not our fault. Blame your parents and work to get back in legally.

Oh but God forbid the parents should actually be responsible for their actions!

It actually makes no sense to judge a family’s legality based on their 15 y/o kid but why should anything make sense.

“Go back to your parents’ homeland and go work for the Castro bothers.”

I’m sure you are aware as to how insulting and counterproductive it is to address someone whose family was prevented from returning to their homeland because of the Communist takeover as a “Marxist” and to tell them to “go work for the Castro brothers” (I fixed your typo for you). I think the only appropriate respose would be to tell you to fo F yourself, or to punch you in the nose. Alas, you’re hiding atop a mango tree somewhere in Panama, so you won’t be telling that to a Cuban-American’s face anytime soon.

“By the way, I read here on FR a few weeks ago or less he has made political exaggerations/lies about his personal life to make himself look like something special.”

You mean when liberals decided to defame Senator Rubio’s parents and family by claiming that they weren’t really kicked out of their homeland by Castro? Marco Rubio refuted the argument quickly and effectively, and every conservative who read it understood right away that the liberal media were trying to fabricate a story out of thin air. Senator Rubio’s parents moved to FL in the late 1950s and worked there for a few years, and were set to return to Cuba in 1961. Marco’s mother flew back to Cuba with his older siblings while his father stayed in Florida and wound up affairs before meeting up with them. However, his mother discovered that things were past the point of no return under Castro, who was proving to be a Communist, and the Rubios decided that they couldn’t raise their family in such a place so his mother and siblings returned to Florida and waited for Castro to fall. We are all still waiting for that. To say that the Rubios weren’t Cuban exiles is an insult that only a liberal could concoct, and I’, dismayed to hear a conservative such as yourself repeating such lies.

There are very good arguments one can make against Rubio’s bill, but you don’t seem to know any, if your ad hominem attacks and insults are all that you see fit to post.

If you were four years old when your parents brought you here illegally, and you have grown up here your whole life and don’t even speak Spanish, and you are your high school’s valedictorian, you have a lot to contribute to our future

I wonder what the ratio of valedictorians to gang bangers is

It is sad to acknowledge that too many of our fellow Americans are more than willing to set the law aside when the democrats and the fifth column media stroke ther emotions. We have a poster on this very thread spittling as fast as she can type because she’s been manipulated into irrational response.
