Jeb Bush Praises Mitt Romney, Says He Has ‘Common Ground’ With Obama
ABC News ^ | Jun 22, 2012 | Shushannah Walshe

Posted on 06/23/2012 9:11:50 PM PDT by Mozilla

Mitt Romney may have encountered a tough crowd addressing a group of Latinos Thursday, but former Florida Governor Jeb Bush transitioned easily from Spanish to English and drew loud applause on the issue of education reform and school choice – and complimented the presumptive Republican nominee’s rival, President Obama.

At the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials or NALEO in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Bush began by giving Romney a nod.

“We heard an excellent speech, I thought, from Mitt Romney, who is a supporter of education reform and of school choice,” Bush said.

However, in his next breath he aligned himself with Romney’s rival and repeated what has gained him headlines over the last few weeks, but he deeply believes in: Working across party lines works as well as having a more open debate.

“I am proud of the fact that as a former governor I was asked by [Education] Secretary [Arne] Duncan to introduce our current president of the United States in a high school in Miami because we share common ground,” Bush said to cheers from the crowd. “And I don’t know about you, but when we find common ground we shouldn’t fight anymore, we should move on and build on that success. Apparently one can get in trouble when they say these kinds of things, but I happen to believe it’s the American way."

Ever notice how the media will happily quote ANY Republican willing to trash conservatives? But they almost NEVER quote Democrats willing to trash liberals?

This should give Bush something to think about - there aren’t any “mavericks’ on the left side - the MSM totally ignores turncoats... ( well, to thsir side)

Most of the time when we hear about Latino elected officials here in CA they have been caught with their hand out. Not that we don’t have all races of corrupt RATs here, but many of the recent cases have been Latino’s.
I guess that the SS knows enough about these people to be wary..

but when we find common ground we shouldn’t fight anymore,

I swear, this has been the most depressing, dispiriting presidential election season I’ve ever experienced.

And it should be the EXACT opposite, with the invigorating goal of getting the worst, most abjectly anti-American POS out of the White House. But here again the whole rancid GOP-e crowd makes the race seem not even worth fighting. It’s like watching a Democrat primary of a far-off state, between an unhinged Marxist and a big-government lib.

The skull and cross bones Bushes have been so good for America ......

- Late Sen. Prescott Bush - on the board and the 1st treasurer for Planned Parenthood (or whatever it was called then).

- G.H.W. Bush - was pro-choice before getting on board the Reagan ticket. Bush 1 was all about globalization. He was on the plan with Kissinger when he went to set up the meeting for Nixion and the Chinese. China was basically 3rd world until we made them our greatest military and economic threat of the future. Bush 1 was ambassador to China and former CIA director. He was in no way like Ronald Reagan. And reading his lips allowed for someone like Bill Clinton to become prez.

- W - the best of the bunch which isn’t saying much. My biggest problem with him is that he didn’t stand up to the media and the left during his later years. He let them steamroll right over him.

- I used to think Jeb might be the best of the elitist skull and crossbones bunch but not any more.

I am ready for them to fade away. These RINOs have done enough damage.

Yep, Jeb is a vile opportunist. I will NEVER vote for a Bush again for as long as I live. Bush41 and Bus43 have proven beyond any doubt that they believe government to be "good." That's why they promote statist policies such as ADA, No Child Left Behind, Medicare Part-d.

The Bush will always turn to activist government that result in less Liberty and more power to sadistic bureaucrats.

The are enough real conservatives that Americas can choose among. These elites feel they are entitled to the office. Somehow Americans need to have the instinct to never return politicians to office and especially never to give the indications they support "dynasties."

Unlike the Statist Bush family, I view government at best as a necessary EVIL and lately I have been viewing government as becoming an intolerable evil.

Conservatives need to have the convictions to never support Statists.

It was easiest for me to pick a candidate - there was ONLY ONE with the credentials to be our president - a Conservative Patriot with proven accomplishments FOR America, the ONE this POS liberal spent his campaign lying about with attack ads, NEWT.

So the immature, naive, easily deceived voter are on their own - they weren’t interested in AMERICA and THE BEST for her but voted for someone they ‘liked’. They ‘own’ putting this country in the hands of evil. They are unteachable, a con man’s dream.

The feted vote is certainlynot us. Can you tell? Romney intends to win without us. I intend to oblige him.

RINOS rule and the Establishment has the wind at their back. We do not, because we are compliant and cooperative. We have proven to be no threat yet, but down ticket, which is nothing more than incidental to the GOP.

These good old boys know how Romney governed Massachusetts, no differently than Obama, and what he has stood for, flipped on and they like a socialist.

Having measured him for the empty suit he is, he serves their purpose for co-opting socialism. He is perfect for instructing and directing, and moving us to the left, obviously.

More like his supporters hope that he will win - yet, no one can say what he intends to win with. The worse of the worse and the GOP support as a candidate and that doesn't even give his supporters a clue. They don't want to be waken up, they already proved they are unteachable. This was the easiest of elections to pick a candidate and the most important one with the worst president ever - and the idiots still couldn't get it right.

It should have been easier than Evil vs. Evil - who is the winner?

So you have no problem with one nation under evil. It doesn’t matter who wins to evil - it has both sides covered BY DESIGN - voters fell for mitt’s well-planned deceit with his campaign enablers.

I supported and voted for NEWT - THE BEST for America, the ONLY candidate who deserved the nomination. But EVIL did what evil does - LIE about the one who is BEST for America and voters believed the LIES from a KNOWN LIAR.

One of the few things I respect GWB for is staying quiet, but Jeb is trying to tell us what the real Romney will do. He is trying to help him.

Romney told that Hispanic group that he will work with Dems, and he does have common ground with Obama on lots of issues. Jeb is right.

Why is an English speaking nation being coerced, prodded, directed toward being bilingual in Spanish? Would the reason be those who rule us wish to create a conflicted view (in the public) of ourselves as a people, or is it to further confuse the American existence and view of our rulers? As Americans were beginning to awake to things not being done for the citizens instead rather to the citizens was the invasion a necessary step to provide a release valve for the pressure which has been placed on Americans or the rulers of Americans? This would imply something sinister. Have our rulers ever been sinister? Yes, our rulers have. Yet should not we Americans be overjoyed American culture is being impugned and be happy to be involved (as a people of the world) in a New World Order? Should not Americans surrender their uniqueness and be willing to give rights to another people to destroy our culture for the sake of a world culture, or Spanish culture should not we? It is for the good of our children is it not?

but former Florida Governor Jeb Bush... complimented the presumptive Republican nominee’s rival, President Obama.

As has been noted before by several here and elsewhere, Jebbie and Slick Willie have been engaged in the same self-serving game of late: complimenting the presidential candidate of the opposing party, looking to their own interests in 2016 and undermining their party this year.

Two political animals purely out for themselves and their narrow personal interests.

There is no BS. I made a simple statement and it is true. Jeb Bush is the one who said this, not Romney. And, as I said, Jeb should follow his brother W's lead and just keep quiet in this election...but I believe he is tryoing to grease the skids for his own future run for the Presidency.

The folks who are reaching here are the ones who are trying to project this statement onto Romney like you just did. That's fine, and it is clearly your strongly held belief. But it does no change the fact that it was Bush who said this, not Romney.
