Doctors Despair Over Obamacare
Big Govt ^ | 7-1-12 | Wm Bigelow

Posted on 07/01/2012 6:31:52 PM PDT by Dysart

The Doctor Patient Medical Association Foundation conducted a faxed survey of random doctors in May 2012. In the survey, it is clearly delineated that the medical system as it is changing is discouraging doctors from practicing. 83% of the doctors said that current changes made them think about quitting, and 90% of them thought the path of the medical field currently was wrong.

They apparently feel that their Hippocratic oaths are being compromised; 61% of them feel that Hippocratic ethics are getting more difficult to practice, which is troubling, since one of the cardinal parts of the oath is the phrase “I will keep them from harm and injustice.”

85% of the doctors surveyed felt that the patient-physician relationship is declining. 37% of the doctors said they were just squeaking by, and 39% said things would get worse over the next five years.

The doctors were virtually unanimous that the government is at fault for medicine being on the wrong track, and feel that corporate medicine is trying to destroy private practice.

If you think it’s bad now, just wait, it get’s worse. Free comes at a price.

So where the heck were all these doctors when Obamacare was being debated? Their silence--and if I remember right, the AMA's approval--allowed Obamacare to become law.

Socialist tyranny (Obamacare)= Command and Control Economy.

Command and Control Economy = Wage and Price Controls

Wage and Price Controls = Lower prices and suppliers going out of business because they are operating at a loss.

Suppliers going out of business = shortages

Socialist tyranny = shortages...EVERY TIME

In this case, Obamacare = shortages of health care professionals and supplies.

Just great! If Doctors are in despair, just think how the patients are feeling. We are in for many years of despair.

Obama’s idea of justice is when we are as miserable as North Korea.

Corporate America thinks providing healthcare to workers as part of its benefits became to expensive over time. Someone in the healthcare system has to give. Drug corporations will not, health insurance corporations will not, hospital corporations will not, the lonely small business doctor will have to become a salaried worker. Main Street vs Corporate America and lobbyists made sure Corporate America comes out on top. Doctors you are lucky that you will still have a salary, blue collar and office workers had their jobs off shored. At least you did not end up in a service industry with 1/3 less pay.

There were plenty of Doctor’s voicing their opinions...but the MSM ignored anyone who didn’t join lockstep with them.

Our healthcare problem in the US started when healthcare became tied to employment during WW2 as a result of govt wage controls.

As soon as we disconnected the payer from the service by inserting a third party, costs began to escalate.

Clear-thinking doctors will quit. Young clear-thinking individuals will not go into medicine. Why bother? Good luck, Comrades. nobamacare = stay healthy or die.

The AMA represents all doctors about like the Liberal AARP represents all retired people. In other words, not at all.

So where the heck were all these doctors when Obamacare was being debated?

I also remember that doctors were not silent. Many threatened to retire if Obamacare becomes law, and there was even some poll, IIRC, that proved that. However members of the public were shouted down by the likes of Pelosi. Input from below was not of interest; Obama and his henchmen were on a mission.

Not until the government builds a wall around America.

Doctors will just leave and go to a nation that allows 'em to make a good living.

While the doctor's pay plummets and their expenses skyrocket, the trial lawyers still have year round open season and no limits.

Less than 30% of physicians are represented by the AMA. The AMA is a leftist racket stacked with entrenched academics and bureaucrats, not your avg doc out in the field actually practicing medicine. A world of difference.

Yep...hubby and I have joked in the past about level A, B and C docs. The A docs will definitely retire or flee, as will most of the B docs...that will leave the remainder of the B docs and the C docs. Ouch.

Not to worry! We'll get new doctors with MD degrees from University of Granada, Nairobi Doctors' School, and Mama Josue's Medical School and Nail Salon in Haiti. And they'll all be direct employees of the Federal gubmint!

This is going to be harsh, but so is reality.

The majority of stupid Americans who voted for obastard deserve to die horribly for lack of good medical care because of what they wrought on the rest of us.

Gimme gimme whiny ignorant Scum. That’s all they are.

He's proud, but he's no overnight success story.

He is standing with one foot on FDR's shoulder for his wage and price controls that gave birth to health care as a benefit a way to get around them and and the other foot on Ted Kennedy's shoulder for giving us the HMO that obamacare then has to fix for us.

That's how they play...so, what comes next?

Is it time to go on offense yet or shall we keep playing clueless defense???
