How can Romney beat Obama when almost half of the country is on government assistance?
The poll numbers amazed me-how can Obama be that close (or even beat) Romney in the polls?
Because the takers won't vote to cut their aid-why would they?
Illegals who don't have to show ID will take those numbers over the top and Obama will win by default.

Sometimes personal dignity has it's price when a person never valued it in the first place
p.s. this country was founded by people who rejected government control-how dare they take a country that restored and fought for self reliance and turn it into a nation of slaves?
The slaves on the plantation were controlled too, but they had their food and lodging paid for-and guess what? they didn't like it, they wanted freedom.
Imagine that!
does that include Social Security retirement and medicare???
does that include Social Security retirement and medicare???
“...does that include Social Security retirement and medicare???”
####
Does that include those working at useless, hideously inefficient government jobs?
does that include govt pensions?...of all kinds?
1 in 3 on medicaid, foodstamps or some other government means (what ever that is)
if you include medicare, social security and unemployment it is about 1/2 of the population
these numbers are from 2010
“NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — More than one in three Americans lived in households that received Medicaid, food stamps or other means-based government assistance in mid-2010, according to a new report.
And when Social Security, Medicare and unemployment benefits are included, nearly half of the nation lived in a household that received a government check, according to the analysis of third-quarter 2010 Census data done by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, a libertarian-leaning think tank. That’s more than 148 million Americans.

I just posted this because things keep stacking up against getting obama out of the whitehouse
romney’s weakness sure doesn’t help
I think your approach to analyzing the situation is cockeyed and should be ignored ~ particularly by you.
The question assumes that people on government assistance want government assistance. Most folks on unemployment compensation would rather have jobs. Ditto for many people on welfare. Folks on Social Security are likely to be old enough to remember the way the country used to be and want their grandchildren to have a chance to grow up in America-as-America, rather than America-as-Peronist-Argentina, and are not, for the most part, of the entitlement mind-set, but rather expect the government to keep faith with them after taxing them all their working lives purportedly to provide them with a minimal pension.
Yep. We no longer have a constitutional republic, we have a democracy and the wolves are voting to eat the sheep.
This is the stage where the parasites kill the host and then turn on each other.
This is why this nation is over. sad bt true.
you see it even on this site.
You didn't ask but I'll tell you anyway. What I think is cockeyed is making an absurd declarative statement, putting the word 'So' in front of it and a question mark at the end of it and pretending it's a question. |
You missed the whole point. Did you bother to see the statement to which I made a response?
Some on aid which is “supposed” to be temporary, e.g. foodstamps, might be looking back fondly at more prosperous times and want them back again.
Government assistance is government assistance - part of the problem is that for everyone “my” assistance is deserved, but everyone else is a parasite.
The other problem is the belief that “I’m just getting back what I paid in.”
Look at the gyrations some people go through here to justify farm subsidies.....
aka building a strawman or putting words in someone’s mouth
I want those days back again.
I’m in a good job, but most of my neighbors are not.
It gets worse every day.
In times like these, why would we attack our own industries?
