Where Did Syria’s Chemical Weapons Come From?
Brietbart Big Peace ^ | July 14, 2012 | Frank Salvato

As the news stories mount regarding Syrian President Bashar al Assad’s decision to move his chemical weapons stockpile from storage to areas closer to rebel locations, there is one thing the mainstream media is not commenting on: How Syria acquired what is reported to be one of the world’s largest arsenals of bio-chemical WMD? More to the point, what they are not reporting is this: From where did the Assad regime acquire their bio-chemical WMD?

In 2006, former Iraqi general, Georges Sada, who served under Saddam Hussein before he defected, wrote a comprehensive book detailing how the Iraqi Revolutionary Guard moved weapons of mass destruction into Syria, before the US-led action to eliminate Saddam Hussein’s WMD threat, by loading the weapons into civilian aircraft in which the passenger seats were removed.

As reported in the New York Sun on January 26, 2006:

“‘There are weapons of mass destruction gone out from Iraq to Syria, and they must be found and returned to safe hands,’ Mr. Sada said. ‘I am confident they were taken over.’”

No one wants to support George Bush. No one wants to speak against the Muslim Barbarians.

Syria has had a chemical weapons program for many years, which I did not know until yesterday, thanks to a very astute Freeper. Appears they had help from Russia. Imagine that.

Syria has had an extensive chemical weapons program long before events in Iraq. The Israelis were reporting on the Syrian chemical weapons long before 2003.

Syria’s chemical weapons program began in the mid 1970s. According to Maj.-Gen. (res.) Yehoshua Saguy, who served as head of Military Intelligence from 1979 to 1983, Egypt assisted the Syrians in starting the program.

“It was after the Yom Kippur War which they ultimately lost, and there were rumors about Israel’s purported nuclear capability,” Saguy recalled this week. “It was a totalitarian regime so they just diverted funds, purchased some basic capabilities from Egypt and later, with the help of experts from the former Soviet Union, began to build their own independent infrastructure.”

It took only a few years for the program to take off, and in 1982 the world witnessed what a dictator with chemical weapons was capable of doing. Hafez Assad ordered his military to quell Muslim Brotherhood protests in Hama. In addition to heavy shelling, the forces also used poisonous gas to kill the protesters.

At a later stage and as a cover, the Syrians established a civilian research facility near Damascus – called the Scientific Studies and Research Center – to purchase the dual-use technologies it needed for the production of its various chemical weapons: Sarin and VX nerve agents as well as mustard gas.

For goodness’ sake, Saddam shipped them to Syria so our troops wouldn’t find em when they took on Iraq.

And then, of course, all our wonderful and patriotic media cheerleaders chimed in with, “Okay, so where are the WMDs?”

Like they didn’t know.

In the first couple of days of the Iraq invasion, our troops fired on a convoy of Russian vehicles heading for Syria and that sparked off an international objection from Russia that we fired on “diplomats”, who just happened to be Spetznaz troops. We allowed the convoy to proceed and nothing more was said. Not much attention? It was Bush’s fault for firing on defenseless diplomats.

The big question is, just how did Ted Kennedy know before the Iraq War, the WMD’s wouldn't be found in Iraq?

Because Bush hates black people.

Whoops, wrong meme. Bush lied, people died.

Dammit. Once more, with feeling: THERE ARE NO WMDS IN IRAQ OR SYRIA.

Anybody who suggests otherwise is looking for a pretext to invade Syria.

You didn’t think those Russian Marines were just sent to Syria to direct traffic, did you?

Next stop for those pesky nondeclared WMD - offloading to Iranian air or sea transport for Hezbollah/IRG shipment to Iranian safekeeping

It should not be difficult for anyone to see how the dems and liberals along with MSM here are often in alliance with the russians, muslims and most other anti-American factions.

Apparently they have no prohibitions to the dark philosophies of “the end justifies the means and the enenmy of my enemy is my friend” and how extra nice for a sizable chunk of US voters stupidly IDing with dems in-spite of this obvious anti-American axis.

Nasser’s Egyptian troops in Yemen battled Saudi Arabian troops and their Yemeni clients by using chemical warfare, probably acquired from the USSR, or possibly developed or redeveloped from WWI and WWII German work. The technology has been passed around by a lot of people — to Iraq, Iran, Syria, and other despotates in the ME. Thanks SumProVita.
