US SECRETARY of State Hillary Clinton has been taunted by chants of "Monica, Monica" by tomato-throwing demonstrators as she visited the Egyptian port city of Alexandria.
The chants, referring to the Monica Lewinsky scandal when her husband, Bill Clinton, was president, were heard outside the US consulate as she visited for its reopening.
An embarrassed Egyptian security official said they were chanting "Monica, Monica" and "Irhal, Clinton" (Get out, Clinton.)
Tomatoes, shoes and a water bottle were thrown at part of Mrs Clinton's motorcade as it pulled up, protected by riot police, although a US official said Mrs Clinton's own vehicle was not hit.

This reminds me of Carter forcing the Shah of Iran out of power. There will be no democracy in Egypt anytime soon. The military is the only way to stop the tyranny that will surely follow if the MB takes over.
And what follows will result in instability in the region including places like Saudi Arabia. The US should stay out of this power struggle and not try to tip the balance towards the MB. If anything, we should be supporting the military--quietly.

Egypt is still a fairly liberal place for a Muslim country. It is no big deal that Hillary doesn’t cover her hair. Many if not most women in Cairo don’t cover their hair.

I also notice the slogans: “Hamas will never rule Egypt” and “Egypt will never be Pakistan”. Perhaps they are very professional because Copts tend to go into business and engineering. Alexandria has a large Coptic population, and the slogans hardly look pro-Islamist. I think they are objecting to American policy for the same reason we object to American support of the “Arab Spring”.
