Had a good day, thanks! I can't remember if I told you - I went to see a Pain Dr. yesterday - he has me on an oral med for nerve pain and a patch as well. He's also put me on on a back brace. After two days on the back brace, my impression is that I can stand more erectly and walk more easily. I'm starting on aqua-therapy - should ease a lot of the pressure arsing from my ponderous weight. This Dr. seems to have it more together than the other guys I've seen - not a gun-jumper for surgery.

Hi! href="http://www.blogthings.com/whatisyourheartfeelingquiz/results/?result=8">Your Heart is Feeling Open
You have no idea where your love path leads, but you're looking forward to the journey.
For you, love as an adventure. While you may get hurt, that's the risk you have to take.
You are receptive to any love or relationship that may come your way. You can't predict love!

Deep down, your heart is susceptible to: Anything... both good and bad

Your current outlook on love: Free spirited and flexible

Your love life will improve if you: Protect yourself a little. You don't have to be open to every romantic experience.

Watch out for: Treating love as a game

Well I got an ultrasound tomorrow for a swollen saliva gland that took me by surprise a little over a week ago. Hopefully will get the issue resolved. :)

We watched the film Act of Valor Monday night for the first time.

Wonderful film that reminds everyone that there are bad guys out there who need to be clobbered once and a while.

Thanks to all the troops for keeping us safe!

FREEDOM ISN’T FREE!

It Is Purchased With The Blood Of Patriots!

“Freedom Isn’t Free”

By DDR Kelly Strong USCG (ret)

I watched the flag pass by one day,
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He’d stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil
How many mothers’ tears?
How many pilots’ planes shot down?
How many died at sea
How many foxholes were soldiers’ graves?
No, freedom isn’t free.

Taps

I heard the sound of Taps one night,
When everything was still,
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant “Amen,”
When a flag had covered a coffin.
Of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives,
I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington,
No, freedom isn’t free.

We've been having problems for a while with redirects and unwanted stuff coming up - then the Security Shield 2012 came up a couple of days ago - that sucker got into everything! Couldn't get online, couldn't open a Word document - GRRRRR. Mrs. MacNessa did a damn good job - she'll be feasted with Champagne and stuffed salmon filet soon.

Indeed! The stuffed salmon filet is her fave at the present - I sure can't argue with that. Still, John Man has been grilling some nice steaks lately. I ordered him a Grill Sergeants apron on line from the Marine Corp Assn - I think he deserves it after the job he's been doing on the grill. Much better than I was at the tender age of 16!

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS AND OUR BELOVED NATION!

Must retire – the 0500 Reveille approaches relentlessly.

The Bugler, his grim visage replete with an evil sneer, already mounts the parapet.

Do poor Tom some charity, whom the foul fiend vexes!

Good night, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America!

Godspeed our Troops around the Globe – especially those in harm’s way – by virtue of their service and sacrifice we continue to live in Freedom!
