A third of the world's adults are physically inactive, and the couch potato lifestyle kills about five million people every year, experts said in the medical journal The Lancet on Wednesday.

"Roughly three of every 10 individuals aged 15 years or older -- about 1.5 billion people -- do not reach present physical activity recommendations," they said in a report that described the problem as a "pandemic."

The picture for adolescents is even more worrying, with four out of five 13- to 15-year-olds not moving enough, it said.

Physical inactivity was described for the study as failing to do 30 minutes of moderate physical activity five times a week, 20 minutes of vigorous activity three times a week, or a combination of the two.

Inactivity increases with age, is higher in women than in men, and more prevalent in high-income countries, the researchers found.

Just where in the hell and how in the hell did they get this information? Did they look for death certificates that listed the cause of death as inactivity?

Preposterous!! Where in the hell do they get the money for these ridiculous "studies"?

Good question! Let’s apply for a government grant to study it.

Exactly! The stage has been set. Over the last two years I have been exercising more and feel good. I have always had a good diet, but it wasn't enough. What my personal experience tells me is that exercise a much greater factor to health than diet. So we already know the government is willing to regulate, tax and ban foods. It is only a matter of time until the government decides to create a tax that requires one to join a fitness club. Then fining you for not buying a membership and penalizing your for not working out three times a week.

Now see right here is your answer: death panels to eliminate increased age and UN-managed income redistribution to thin out the inactivity in your high-income countries.

Barky... call your office.

Chief dick Justice
says that it’s perfectly constitutional
for the government to require you to exercise or pay a tax.

Remember, this is The Lancet, a far left publication that will do all it can to advance the statist line.

Because, right before everyone dies, there must have been ‘inactivity’ involved, no matter how brief or transient that moment be.

Ergo, physical inactivity kills 5 millions.

I wonder what death toll worldwide is like, why Lancet didn’t aim higher.

Now, add in (mandatory) bitchy queer personal trainer nazis (think Richard Simmons clones), and I think we just might have ourselves a glimpse of what Hell will be like for unbelievers.

I agree, and its the fault of being computer addicted.

My puter time is a fraction of what it used to be, and will be much more less in the future.

Reality bites, it stings, its full of harsh sunlight and extreme weather. But its life.

Life on the internet is a land between reality and the unfettered subconscious of when we dream.

I was watching a football game one Sunday, yes, I was sitting, and one of those move 60 government ads came on. I was stuned when they referred to the "REQUIRED", not recommended, 60 mins of exercise children should have.

Keep in mind the left has already advanced claims about how many folks global warming kills — aids kills — poverty kills — conservatism kills — unlocked guns kill — Christianity kills — hetero marriage kills — racism kills — capitalism kills — sugary drinks kill — &etc

If they make the claim TOO generous, the causes of death will add up to ten times the number of people actually dying and we’ll get wise to the agenda.

Citizen:
You will report at 10:AM next TUESDAY to your local Citizens Fitness Stadium to have your right arm bar-coded. Henceforth you will be required to check in at the CFS each Monday, Wednesday and Friday for your “Citizen’s Fitness Training”. Your designated time is 9AM until 10:30AM.
Be certain to pause at the ATTENDANCE MONITOR to have your bar-code read and entered in the attendance roster.
Failure to report at required will be financially penalized, such penalties depending on frequency of “failure to obey the law”.
Yours in good health,
Your community director of wellness
