JIMI HENDRIX

Born Johnny Allen Hendrix on November 27, 1942
in Seattle, Washington.
He was one of five children.

After initial success in Europe
with his group The Jimi Hendrix Experience,
Hendrix achieved fame in the United States following
his 1967 performance at the Monterey Pop Festival.

He is widely considered to be the
greatest electric guitarist in music history

Hendrix was considered one of the most
influential musicians of his era
despite mainstream exposure limited to four years.

Hendrix won several prestigious rock music awards
during his lifetime, and many more posthumously.

TRIVIA

In early life, Hendrix got into trouble
with the law twice for riding in stolen cars.

He was given a choice between spending two years in prison
or joining the Army.
Hendrix chose the latter and enlisted on May 31, 1961.

After basic training, he was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division
and stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Private Hendrix received an honourable
discharge on the basis of
"unsuitability" on June 29, 1962.

Hendrix was well known for his unique
sense of fashion and wardrobe
and his Dylan-esque (c. 1966) hairstyle.

Early on September 18, 1970,
Jimi Hendrix died in London.

Last race was great! Good turnout both for entries AND workers; I worked a total of three sessions for all two days I was there.

Furbabies are doing well. We got Janis to her new home a couple weeks ago, where her new daddy says she promptly took over! Patch was a little unhappy for a couple days, but she got over it.

My sister is trying to get Tigger the Cat to play nice with Murphy the Dog .... Tigger is not pleased and letting the dog know it.
