Warner Bros have delayed the release of Ryan Gosling's Gangster Squad to 2013, allowing the film's bosses to change the ending following the Batman massacre in Aurora, Colorado last week.
The climatic shoot-scene at a cinema was glimpsed in the film's original trailer, but even that promo has now been pulled from circulation following the shooting that killed 12 people during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the delayed release will give filmmakers enough time to come up with an alternative ending.

My mega-donors are more responsible now ... so they are going to shoot their massacre scene in a church ... cause they don't want movie goers like you to end up in a place like this.
Well, I guess a film showing a shootout in a theater won’t be quite so popular now. Maybe our dear shooter was just a little too eager to give a live preview of Warner’s coming attraction.
Fight Club used to be my favorite movie, but 9/11 ruined it for me.
In the 1960s a bomb would go off in a movie theater about every three months, in Saigon.
After the bombing, people would rush to other theaters as they knew it would be safe for about two months. Then they would get leary of theaters till the next bomb went off. If no bomb went off for four months every one would be on edge not knowing when the VC bombers would strike again.

Everyone cheered when the audience was massacred in the film INGLORIOUS BASTERDS (2009), which was a lib’s wet dream.

Ummm...what?
I wonder if the will go back and cut oout the climactic theater scene in “Inglorious Bastards?” I mean, Spielberg did go back and edit out all of the guns from “E.T.” Not that there were that many to begin with.
"Climatic?"
It’s not like anybody actually saw that movie.
“Basterds” was a fantasia about a hypothetical revenge of Jews upon German Nazis, led by a very much Christian, redneck gentile. So the massacred moviegoers in this piece were villains. Not the same as your innocent Aurora victims.

Yeah, but the dates they took were also killed. Reminds me of the film THE DIRTY DOZEN in which the enemy and their women are trapped in a bomb shelter and burned to death.
This excessive violence is why Jack Palance refused the lead role and it went to Lee Marvin.
You do realize it was an audience of nazis, and that Hitler was in attendance?
Incidentally, I thought that movie sucked (though I did admire a few sequences).
One could say they should have known better than to be romancing Nazis, but still. I’ll grant that would be debatable.
